I have been able to make several contacts from My Space.  It has a reputation as a "dating" site but that is not what I use it for, but for networking.  Several of my friends are also on it, not for dating.  I was just curious as to who from here has an account there as well.  If you do let me know or if interested put in an add request to me.

Myspace is great for networking.I use it for networking and to keep up w/ bands.
I've gotten modeling gigs for clothing companies because the owners found Me on Myspace.so I don't know why ppl knock Myspace.this site is just like Myspace except for industry ppl only.

It's a pain in the ass site, so many useless ads, pages take forever to download, personalized pages which just visually overwhelms, all in all a pointless site. There is no comparison to MM at all.

I have an account though, why I'm not sure.

I'm on MySpace but have never used it to find models in the US. Instead, with its large global database, I've used it to find potential models in Cyprus, where I'm moving later this year.

So far, I've contacted eight women there and heard back from two, one of them saying she wants to model for me (and I think the other one will come around later). It ain't much, yet, but it's pretty remarkable nonetheless that one can line up models half a world away by the mere click of a few buttons.

ditto. plus all the idiots who contact you regardless of the fact that your profile states in plain english that you want nothing to do with them. plus the people who wouldn't know a proper sentence and good spelling if the two gang-banged their mother in front of the person.

I look at it as a tool like all other sites.  This site sometimes is VERY slow itself.  It is all like eating fish:  eat what you want and spit out the bones.  smile

plus me wink

Thanks for this link.  I want to network enough so that whenever I take a trip I can contact someone where I am going to shoot while there.

Yep... a great place to network... made loads of terrific connections there... granted, the pages do take a few more seconds to load, but it's primarily due to the page owner slammin their page with wacked out graphics, loads of photos and music clips... something you WONT see on my page... wink

I have one, which I got because a model who contacted me only had pictures on MySpace, so I figured what the Hell.

I found some of my favorite models there, including the blonde girl in my avatar, who I saw in a Comments link. She had taken an absolutely AMAZING picture of herself with a handheld webcam and I messaged her cold and told her she had to model for me. I have high hopes for her.

I love the place. I have actually found so many on there to shoot with I have enough for a lifetime or two, lol. The problem is a lot of them are in college which means they are very busy.
