I would have no problem shooting soft core or nudes.  I believe the female form is a beautiful thing to be celebrated.  It would have to be art photos or video, no nasty stuff.  Being female myself, I believe I could make it artistic in lieu of trashy and that would not give me any hesitation at all.

No problem at all for me. Art is art especially if my wallet gets bigger in the process.
My wife would have a problem with it though smile

Maybe I could juxtapose some artistic quality to enhance the moment(s)captured.
Why not?
Bring it on.

Buy her a diamond tennis bracelet and then remind her from time to time the finer things in life are paid for by you taking pictures of other people shagging.

They were going to shag in front of a camera anyway.

And someone was going to be there to take the pictures and collect the money.

Might as well have been you.

I've shots a few things that could be considered porn.  I see no reason not to do it again as long as I am being paid.

The only things I refuse to shoot are babies and weddings.  Everything else is open season.

I did a shoot with a couple ladies together for my auto mechanic. It got pretty graphic towards the end. I asked him what he wanted them for, and he only said "an online business I'm working on." I didn't want to know anymore, and made sure I didn't tag the images in any way. I even removed all info from the shots.

It was interesting, and a TF shoot. I needed a new starter for my truck, and he needed the shots. I averaged making close to $1K for an hours work, if I'd taken it to a dealership to have replaced.

Best TF shoot I ever did.

Would I shoot softcore or hardcore porn?  Sure, why not?
Does it go against my morals?  Sorry, I had to wait until I stopped laughing.  NO!
Does it take away from my artistic expression?  What artistic expression?  My sister got the art gene.
Family reasons?  My parents are both dead and I could not care less what my cousins might think.
Already successful in commercial or fashion?  Woops.  Fell off my chair while laughing there.  NO!

Edit: Rita Lovely, if you should ever decide to go into porn, keep me in mind as a potential photographer.
Now if you had asked if I would PERFORM in porn I would really be laughing.  No porn producer would want old, overweight and ugly unless said performer was fronting truckloads of money for the production.

the one thing about porn that is often understated in comparison to other forms of entertainment is that it is completely honest about what it is.  More so than most other forms of entertainment in America which tend to be built on foundations of pretense.  When you work in production long enough all this shit just becomes a job one way or another.  You can go to work on a porn set and you know exactly why you are there and what the function of the product is to serve.  You go to work on some network TV show and everyone standing around is operating under some fantasy that you are making this great thing when the bottom line really boils down to the network just seeing your product as the crap they have to create to fill the time between the commercials which ultimately is their main concern.  Its up to you to decide which is "dirtier".

I dont mean to be defending porn or anything, my exposure to the industry has lead to a unmuddied conclusion that its an incredibly dirty and fucked up industry, however the one thing it is above all else is honest about itself and its intention and however fucked up that is to realize, its sadly lacking in many other venues of production in America today.

I haven't shot porn yet, but someone is interested in having me shoot porn of her and her f*ckbuddy doing the wild thing. I can really use the cash, so I'm willing to give it a go. Whether I'll do it again after that depends on what the experience was like. I don't expect I would "enjoy" it. They want to do it in my studio too, but I think I'll insist on doing the shoot at their place. Don't really want stains in my background cloths!

I wouldn't put my name on the photos though. Wouldn't even worry about copyright or archiving the files. I'd just take the money, shoot them, burn the CD or make the prints, there you go, goodbye!

Most of the time, the only thing holding a straight male photographer back from shooting porn is his significant other. Take her out of the picture and that's ALL that would be shot. What straight guy wouldn't want that? JUST for jollies... if nothing else. Don't have to put your watermark or anything on the pictures...

Yeah right, like every straight guy is chomping at the bit to shoot porn? Speak for yourself!
I think it would get boring rather quickly. And there's no artistry or creativity involved. You're just trying to keep up, shooting and documenting "the act" while they change positions after every few minutes of pumping various orifices. What a yawn!

You've never been on a professional porn shoot have you?
There's a lot more than just "documenting" involved, except maybe in the lowliest amateur work. Even "documentaries" involve some effort and thought, lol!

Just FYI - For anyone that shoots quality work (porn or fetish, whatever)... that's kind of insulting....

I guess part of the reason for my apprehension is that I'll be shooting a casual aquaintance, who I initially thought was an expert traditional and trantric masseuse but has progressed to being a full on prostitute. She also has bi-polar disorder, so she does things that are weird or piss me off, and she doesn't have the kind of figure that you'd want to photograph. The kind of pics she wants I would likely consider totally crass and filthy.

If someone approached me to shoot certain kind of content for their magazine, such as photostories where the subject gradually strips off their clothing to show off their wares and play with themselves a bit, that would be a bit different. That's more soft porn and allows the possibility of some creativity and artistry. I'd still not use my 'regular' name but would shoot under an alias.

Yeah I realise people have different ideas and experiences when it comes to shooting porn. My first answer was from the perspective of shooting two sex-crazy amateurs who want prints of themselves doing the wild thing, that they can share with other couples who like to share fuck pics. I see no artistic value in that kind of thing.

Proper productions of porn content would be quite a different kettle of fish, and a much more professional environment I imagine.

Yes, I have, and still do when it's requested (and the money's right.) And I could care less if it's hardcore, softcore, BDSM, or stuffing rotten bananas up a worn out bunghole. Sometimes it's kinda funny to see the things that people like....very entertaining.

I traded my previous set of morals in for a new set...the old ones were keeping me from paying bills. Fortunately, the new set of morals still lets me pursue artistic endeavors.

Oh, and my family got over it. wink

Big deal. Keep track of your records...and unless you are filming models doing a chainlink fence and then selling it to Florida or Utah, NOT a big deal.
