I suppose I can understand some degree of fear after something traumatic happening (not talking about having a baby LOL).  But really, I can't fathom living life in fear of possibly being alone with a male (or, for that matter, being in a situation where men outnumber the women I suppose)... it happens SO often, and in SO many places.  I've been alone with men during job interviews, at work, at the dentist/doctor, while traveling, when grocery shopping, at the hair salon... and that doesn't even include my social life.  I have a lot of male friends, and I've been alone with many of them before.

I just... don't get it.  Would someone who lives in such fear of guys have an escort with her at all times?

On a serious note... I meant no offense to anyone by my comments...I just like to joke around...It keeps things light!!! Yes there are instances that can happen in a females life that could possible make them afraid to be alone with men...A rape being one of them...So my heart goes out to any of those people in this situation..

That being said...Sex is not the only thing on all men or photographers minds..THere are bad people everywhere in the world...We just must keep a watchful eye and try our best to not make ourselves a victim of circumstance.

A fringe benefit of being a female photographer, I suppose.
When I tell a model to go to the bedroom, they don't think I'm some creepy perv trying to get my lovin' on with them. Actually, I probably get away with saying way worse things to models than a lot of men do without receiving any negative backlash. big_smile

Jesus men must be the worst creatures on the face of the planet - Some of you seem to forget that their are female Photographers too and I know a few myself who would easily try and get up your ally and some even succeed..

Some models are so up their own arses and think that every Tom Dick and Harry or even all three of them together wants to sleep with them..and as one member here said men respond to visual stimuli ... that is the way nature created them.. So if you don't want to stimulate any man (and for that matter some females too) stay indoors..

Stop reading to much into everything..  Just enjoy what you are doing and hey you might even enjoy it.. You chose to become a model and with that comes certain perks and certain drawbacks  --- deal with it...!!!

Oh and BTW.... I am a female myself...

OK, here's how it goes around here -

1. Of course your body is amazing, that's why I hired you

2. No dinner. Eat the snacks I put out for the shoot or bring your own. Maybe lunch. Coldcuts and bread are in the fridge.

3. We can sleep together but only at the same time, not in the same place. If you are sleeping between midnight and six, guess what? So am I!

That works for me.

Well, there are some men on here that I would not work with if I were a model. MM is a great way to network. it also seems like a great way to call yourself a photographer and take photos of nude models for your own thrills, with or without photographic skills.

Models have every right to be cautious when chosing who they shoot with, expecially on here ( ie not through an agency)

I am a female photographer that works with everyday women doing boudoir work. I know how vunerable one becomes when you strip them of their clothes, and how uninhibited they feel at the end of the shoot. To take advantage of that as a professional is unprofessional sleazy behaviour.

Do your research with photographers, and treat yourself in a very professional manner when on shoots.

"especially on here", huh? (except, I spelled correctly) You have a lot of nerve to insult thousands of photographers on Model Mayhem huh? What was that part about being professional again?

I hear that it's the Australian photographers you have to look out for. Mainly, the female ones. Total sex freaks, I hear. And if they have "I'm mainly looking for male models" in their profile, watch your ass fellas. They're probably only after (you know what).

Just don't shoot with photographers that seem like sleezeballs, and are in it more as a player than a photographer.  You can usually tell what they're interested in from their pictures, who they shoot with, and what they say on other models' profiles and pictures.  Research and due diligence...  If you don't care much about what avocados you pick out, you're going to make some crappy guacamole...  Be picky.

this kinda thread pops up ALL the time... yet i know there are models out there that attempt to sleep with photographers just as much... but its not so widely talked about in public as when photographers do it.  i have never and would never hit on a model during or after a shoot... but i feel photographers are getting a raw deal sometimes because if a photographer hits on a model its as if someone has committed murder... if a model hits on a photographer its just laughed about.

Women who are afraid of being raped by strange men shouldn't be modeling nude for strange men.  That's like someone who is afraid of heights perusing a job as an airline pilot or someone who is afraid of animals becoming a veterinarian or someone who can't drive becoming a NYC cab driver.

Ok, the last example isn't that good but you catch my drift.

Oh, most definitely!  Most people flatter themselves when they get hit on.  When men are very persistent, they are only trying to get in and out quickly.  I'd venture to say that this has happened to 99.9% of women who have stepped in front of a camera and it's only a matter of time for the .01% that haven't.

If you haven't been hit-on, you probably shouldn't be modeling!

That's because when a model hits on a photographer, they aren't on any board complaining about it (unless their gf or wives find out about it).  They are usually diving in with both feet!

IMHO, you assume far too much, including the motives of the individuals in question.  Don't be so self flattering.  And IF someone were actually trying to get you into the sac, you should be flattered rather than upset.
