Hello! My very first photo shoot was underwater ( that was 5 years ago ). Over the years I've done several underwater photo shoots and I guess I consider myself to be "experienced" in underwater modeling now. My pictures speak for themselves hehe Thank you! My family lived in Guam for 2 years, Hawaii for 3 years and by the beach in Virginia for a year. When I was in high school, I took 3 years of Lifesaving and Water Safety and had to swim about a mile within a 50-minute class period for my final exam each year. I have swum every chance I've had. Last November, I spent about an hour swimming in Blue Hole at Santa Rosa, New Mexico, wearing only a pair of swimming trunks. The water temperature is about 60° F (16° C) year-round. Last week, I spent a few hours swimming in the pool at San Solomon Spring, in Balmorhea State Park in Texas. Here is a video segment shot from a sports camera that I had mounted on my head with a rubber strap (I was wearing swim fins for this particular segment): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeHz93caMS4 I still remember a half-dozen swimming strokes from high school (front, back, side, breast, butterfly, modified breast) besides a few strokes that I invented so I could swim backwards, sideways or upside-down or all of them at one time. I can swim with my body held vertically straight while upside-down and my legs sticking out of the water. I was taught to dive off a 3-meter high dive, but I prefer to remain in the water if I can. I am comfortable appearing nude. Most of the modeling I have done has been for myself, self-portraits, though a friend did shoot a few frames of me while we were underwater. I would love to pose for underwater shoots. Tarachin wrote: I have added you Thanks for adding me to the list! Woo-hoo!

I'm not a proper underwater baby, but I've done one and I can't wait to do more! I just uploaded a picture (first in my profile). Its a lot harder than it looks and I have a new found appreciation for underwater models.

I have not done any UW modeling, but I'd really love to! I spent 6 years on a swim team, and I feel very calm under water. I love UW photography, so I hope I can someday participate in some ^__^

Hello there! I have my first underwater shoot this Saturday, would anyone who's experienced mind giving me advice? Are there certain food/drinks that I should/shouldn't consume on the day or the night before? What good excercises would help me prepare for this? I'm a good swimmer and I was a dancer/gymnast for many years, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm also able to open my eyes underwater.

That should not be a problem, I have worked with models who have very short hair. Have you tried getting clip in hair extensions? Try to get the ones that are real hair, the synthetic ones dont move the same way in the water... if you do this then no one will have any excuse not to work with you... but I still think that that shouldnt be a reason for them to not want to work with you... *sigh* Let me know when you have had your first shoot and also your background in water, I might be able to add you to the list if your a natural underwater

As my name suggests, I'm naturally drawn to the water. Only this Ophelia does not drown. I swam on swim teams often when I was younger. I have my first underwater shoot planned a month from now and I am terribly excited!

I put peroxide in my ears but I still feel like there is water in them and I've layed on both sides as well. I got a lot of water up my nose and it's kind of messing with my sinuses. Is there anything more I can do for my ears? Or any danger if I don't?

Hi, I recommend making a mixture of vinegar and alcohol and dripping that into your ears. The vinegar will kill any bacteria that got in there and the alcohol will help the water evaporate out. I am in the water a lot and that's what I use. If that doesn't work, I dip a cotton swab in that mixture and gently use it in my ear until it touches the water pocket and helps it flow out. After diving in "basura" in the Philippines this is a must :-) Cheers James

I'm a bit of a water baby. Been swimming before I could walk, nearly. I've lifeguarded as well, and I dance to this day. I've done one underwater shoot, but that was for my senior pictures. I really want to do more.
