I would love to nominate Jessica Angelique MM#1585502 for Newbie of the Week! She had only been shot by two other photographers at the time of my shoot and had already been bitten by the modeling bug. One quality that really stood out beyond her professionalism and her dedication, was her ability to smile and really take this role seriously. It was over 90 degrees in the garage/studio that day and you cant even see her sweat!! I had the pleasure of meeting Kathryn yesterday- before me, she had only had experience in a group shoot environment and the shoot was so last minute she had only an hours warning before we were due to meet! She was a trooper the entire day-- including the mile hike to and from the locale! Didn't complain at all, has a beautiful smile and completely rocked even though we didn't have long to shoot due to time constraints. I didn't have to give her a lot of direction, she's a natural, and I know she'll do well in whatever she decides on! She brought two big suit cases with all these wonderful Steam Punk props with her, on the train and the bus, all the way across town. They were fragile and heavy, and she acted like it was no big deal. She also scouted the location for the first shoot with the amazing statue of the head, She takes the prize for the most attentive to detail, she was well prepared! I needed to do a test shoot at a location I had not shot at before and Randi responded to my 11th hour query (there were only 10 hours before the test shoot) and graciously agreed to do it. The call time was 8 am, she was 10 minutes early, and was ready to shoot. It turns out she had just moved to L.A. in the past month and I was lucky to find an intelligent, attractive and hard working subject. If that wasn't enough, she squeezed me in before another appointment. I could have shot her all day, but I didn't need to.
