Sorry if it's been done, I searched and found nothing with the words together.
Please inform me!

My understanding is that it refers to a shoot where both parties get images with full rights to them with the intention of using the images (usually) on pay sites.  They may or may not be exactly the same images.

For instance, my GF's setting up a trade with a guy for spanking videos where he'll get some clips for his website & she'll get some for her C4S store.

Like any other trade, the exact terms & the fairness of the exchange comes down to what's negotiated.

I agree with SLE for the most part content trade is trade for paid adult or fetish content.

You shoot 2 or more sets:
1 set for the photographer to sell.
1 set for the model to sell.

content trades depend on what is agreed upon.

either all content can be used for both (or more) websites
for example 3 sets shot between a photographer and model and they get to use the 3 sets on their sites.

in some cases, people will prefer to have different content with some shared.
so if 4 sets were shot, 2 could be shared while each contributor kept one exclusive.

just figure it out beforehand

These are all variations on the same theme.  They are all correct and it is really what you ultimately agree to with the other party.

UM what's a C4S store.      content for sale? just my guess.

C4S is shorthand for www.clips4sale.com where you can sell your clips directly to the consumer. They also have a related site, www.images4sale.com

To me, content trade is when I shoot you and don't charge you my day rate . . .

. . . and you don't charge me your day rate . . .

Any images that I deem usable that are retouched and finalized and meet my approval are given to you to use on your website or for your own self promotion purposes.

I will use those same images for my site and promotions as well

Fair Exchange . . .
