Awesome port Bob: I love the variety - however, personally (I repeat personally) I don't like your over-dependence on photoshop.

I am moving to Chicago in October to pursue a more serious photography career.  I understand the market in Portland Oregon is soooooo different.  I feel  like I am stepping up with the big players but have no idea where I should place my pricing.  Age old question right!  I would love your opinion.

I'm curious as to what you will say.  Not regarding money .. I'm pretty sure I know the answer there .. but what you will say beyond TFCD.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave:
You have a good idea of what photography is about. Your concepts are unique as well. And yes, you have to continue to be on TFCD to build your port. Once you have a good port with a good range if photographs - you definitely can turn pro. There is no doubt about what your capabilities are. But right now - your volume is very less.

Yes, you definitely have what it takes to compete with the big guys in Chicago. I would suggest 2 things (my personal opinion) - Do not have over dependence on photoshop 2) Take a crash course on exposure. I am not too excited about a few of your outdoor shots' lighting and exposure. And $250 is a little high. You may wanna revisit your pricing.

Mr. de Haan:
I am flattered that you even care about my opinion. You should actually write a blog on digital photography for lesser mortals (including yours truly) can benefit from.

$250/hr. Don't know in Euros.

Really?

65 euros is about 50 UK pounds.

I'm currently charging 30 pounds an hr unless I'm approached with a sum for the shoot then if it's reasonable I just accept it.

75 euros/hr. You have good potentials. Go to Paris - I am told there are more opportunities as compared to London.

unfortunately in Holland hardly ever an editorial will pay $250 an hour. not even Playboy... only some commercial clients...
