We all have our personal favorite pics in our port. But often we have an image (or ten) that we appreciate a lot more than our colleagues who leave comments and lists. The pics stay in our port because we don’t care what anyone else thinks about them. They are for us.

Here’s a pic that I seem to like more than almost everyone else:
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/121213/23/50cad627b9854_m.jpg

If you want to play, post your favorite under-appreciated photo here (or link if it's 18+) and tell us why it stands out for you. I may tell you why I think it's not getting the love. And maybe others will learn to love it as much as you do.

What I like about the pic I posted above is her radiant, genuine smile and her lovely eyes. I also like the palm trees and how the turquoise colors pop.

The vivid colors are cool, but I like your smile the most. Plus nice cleavage never hurts...

This is mine. I shot it first day I used my first DSLR, when I started shooting again (without film this time). It's also the first photo I did in Photoshop. Took me seven weeks. lol  I started over about once a week.

It was the second photo I entered in POTD. The first one (my avatar) came in fifth. This one got 3 votes.

Even the model didn't like it. She wanted it bright and sunny, not dark and moody.

I'm not sure if it's the image I like so much, or the experience of a successful shoot with my two best friends, but that picture is not leaving anytime soon. smile

When I say that I'm striving for simple and real and a peek at the soul, this is exactly what I'm trying to find.

I like the detail and un-posed look. But I imagine that some might find it unnerving.

Definitely simple & real. Some people seem to need flashiness in order to leave a comment. I like her "this is just me" expression.

It's a classy, sexy shot, but I think the background shadows blend too closely with the black outfit and make the model look thicker. It's an unfortunate optical illusion. That's my theory anyway.

I like this image. The model is great, nice setting, good sexy pose, good DOF. The image could be brighter. Maybe it's just the funky big collar on the right that throws people off?

It's a good image, but it doesn't qualify as under-appreciated with 4,479 views, 708 comments & 40 lists. Your pic is VERY appreciated.

I consider this to be one of the best photos I've ever taken of a model, but it just hasn't gotten the love that a lot of my other photos have.

One of my favorites in her portfolio:
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/100818/06/4c6bde46f0ade_m.jpg

It might be that, unlike other shots in her port, this is the least amount of her that is visible to the visitors.

I really like that one. The copper color with her red hair looks great. Maybe she's too small in the frame for people to appreciate the thumbnail version.

That's great. I like how she's below the horizon line. I agree with your theory, but it's still one of the most commented on pics in her port.

Thanks!

I suspect you might be right; the 800 px width limitation on MM is really limiting for those of us who shoot a good number of landscape-format shots.  Might have made sense in 2005, but these days who still uses a tiny litte monitor?  This shot looks killer on my wall at 24x36", but I can see how it might get overlooked given the lack of detail in an 800x533 px version.

Here's my favorite photo that I've ever taken.  People don't seem to like it a lot.  May e I just really liked the model.  I dunno.

I agree that the feeling of fragility is excellent. I also like the pose, backdrop and sepia tone. At the same time I can almost guarantee you that people don't comment on it because her face is not in full focus. That's a turn off for many unless it's an obvious artistic choice.

She's super cute and the costume and colors are great. People might not appreciate it because it was taken at an event rather than part of a private shoot.

Pretty model and cool rocking chair. I have a feeling that the soft focus is why people don't comment on it. It's hard to tell if it's intentional.

Thank you, and yes the softness was intentional to give it the "home feeling and sadness" of having to sew clothes for this nude beauty smile

If you're still around, I'd love you take on this one.

Here's a photo and concept that I really like a lot that gets very little
attention. It might be the fact that everything seems so far away. Maybe I should
print it in a very wide format?

I like that shot too & the concept behind it. Yes you could probably crop it so she's more visible. Either way I'll bet she gets a ride.

A photographer who recommended Brooke to me remarked on her piercing gaze, and that was one thing I was hoping to capture. This shot was the first frame of the day (and the first roll of my new-to-me Pentax 6x7), within 10 minutes of meeting her. Yeah, she's that good.

This one means the most to me. In a contest here the topic of the weekend was 'reflections' and I knew people were going to use water or mirrors. I went into my basement with a photo of me and my first girlfriend circa 1980. She died of kidney failure in 1994.
I got a lot of views early and a few comments but its one of those photos that I love and as long as I am on MM it will be part of my portfolio.
