We all have our personal favorite pics in our port. But often we have an image (or ten) that we appreciate a lot more than our colleagues who leave comments and lists. The pics stay in our port because we don’t care what anyone else thinks about them. They are for us. Here’s a pic that I seem to like more than almost everyone else: If you want to play, post your favorite under-appreciated photo here (or link if it's 18+) and tell us why it stands out for you. I may tell you why I think it's not getting the love. And maybe others will learn to love it as much as you do. What I like about the pic I posted above is her radiant, genuine smile and her lovely eyes. I also like the palm trees and how the turquoise colors pop. Mar 25 13 10:40 pm Link I really wanted a shot in my rig for myself.. I just thought the set and the images we did were so cute I posted one on MM.. I shot it first day I used my first DSLR, when I started shooting again (without film this time). It's also the first photo I did in Photoshop. Took me seven weeks. lol I started over about once a week. It was the second photo I entered in POTD. The first one (my avatar) came in fifth. This one got 3 votes. Even the model didn't like it. She wanted it bright and sunny, not dark and moody. Mar 26 13 01:05 am Link I'm not sure if it's the image I like so much, or the experience of a successful shoot with my two best friends, but that picture is not leaving anytime soon. It's an unfortunate optical illusion. That's my theory anyway. Maybe she's too small in the frame for people to appreciate the thumbnail version. Mar 26 13 01:22 pm Link MnPhoto wrote: That's great. I like how she's below the horizon line. I agree with your theory, but it's still one of the most commented on pics in her port. Mar 26 13 01:24 pm Link PDMedia Photography wrote: Thanks! Mar 26 13 02:11 pm Link Here's my favorite photo that I've ever taken. People don't seem to like it a lot. May e I just really liked the model. I dunno. Mar 26 13 02:21 pm Link I like this one - the fragile feeling. However, this image does not seem to be as popular as others... At the same time I can almost guarantee you that people don't comment on it because her face is not in full focus. That's a turn off for many unless it's an obvious artistic choice. It's hard to tell if it's intentional. Here's a photo and concept that I really like a lot that gets very little attention. It might be the fact that everything seems so far away. Maybe I should print it in a very wide format? 18+ https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/26121670 Edit: I think I've fixed the link now. Still, I really like this photo, and really don't care. Mar 27 13 05:08 am Link This one means the most to me. In a contest here the topic of the weekend was 'reflections' and I knew people were going to use water or mirrors. I went into my basement with a photo of me and my first girlfriend circa 1980. She died of kidney failure in 1994. I got a lot of views early and a few comments but its one of those photos that I love and as long as I am on MM it will be part of my portfolio.
