I think this is my favorite of your port. Even though it's lit from underneath, which isn't my fav, you look good and the shoot has a great lo-fi, vintage kinda feel too it which works for you. This is also nice I'm really not a big fan of this picture It's just lit badly and the post work makes the image too saturated and yellow toned. The composition isn't great either (your arm is more than 50% of the image, I'm not so sure about that). Plus I just don't really dig the glamorization of self harm being someone that's struggled with depression, plus it can just seem like a cheesy shot if it isn't done really really well.

mjartphotography wrote: i would love to know my where abouts from 1-10. Hmmm maybe a 6 I'm not completely sure. I really like your work with the projections but a lot of your lingerie work isn't my favorite and looks too bland for my tastes and a lot of your framing is off. This has some potential but the post is just made awkward by the model, her head is down too much and kinda scrunching up her neck. And it's cropped way to close on the left, leave little space. The lighting isn't my favorite either; too much fill maybe? I feel like maybe you should stick with just one light on the model to keep things less complicated, really some of the best studio portraits and fashion work I've seen is shot with just one beauty dish or soft box, or even a bare light if you want that real harsh look. This is a nicer use of the light you had, a good kinda high key image. I just wish it wasn't cropped so close to her eyes I think.

Ericson Photography wrote: How is my portfolio? 6-6.5 maybe. I think you have some good variety in your port, which is always nice, I just think some of you're photos are lacking that professional touch. This image is rather nice. Good lighting, clean post work and nice pose and expression by the model. The flowers and her hair are also nicely styled and go good with the soft lighting. I want to love this image, I really do because the model and movement are great. I just am so bugged by her arms being up in the air like that, it just strikes me as weird (which I know makes no sense cause she has to do that to toss her hair that way) I wish you could've captured the image with her arms down by her tossing her hair with her head, maybe try that next time? Also try to always light models with bangs from the side without bangs on it, so they don't get one eye in shadow, if that makes sense. This is really pretty too, the pose it just a little forced is my only major complaint. Great location though and I love the muted blacks.

RetouchRetouch wrote: and my please) Ooo a retoucher! Hmmm ok I think I'll give you a 7.5-8. I think the first two images show your best D&B skills and I honeslty love that you show the images with the curves all whacked out cause you really can see the imperfections/corrections better. Some of you're older images just leave a little bit to be desired. In this image I think it's too much of a good thing. It's so perfect and so clean it looks blurred, which I'm sure you know is not good. Maybe just try to keep an eye out for that happening and maybe less is more with models with tiny pores and soft lighting. The skin editing in this isn't bad but you need to do a better mask of the background so you don't have any blurred lines with the hair on the left. Maybe try using channels to mask out the hair, that seems to work well. I also don't like the black part you added to her lips, I would have copied the other side to edit it out on the right.

DicePhotography wrote: mine please? 6. I think you have tons of potential considering you're just starting out though. You're avatar and the image with the model holding her hair up reminds me a lot of this artists work who I really dig http://brenditaworks.deviantart.com/ I would scrap this though. It just looks like a candid photo and doesn't really go along with the rest of your port. Also I'm not sure what camera you're using or what settings you're shooting at but a lot of your images look grainy and low quality (espeically this one ), almost like cell phone pics or you messed around with it too much in post, which isn't good. Make sure you're shooting at around 200 ISO, you shouldn't have any problem if you're outside in the sun and if it's just that you have a sucky camera, don't worry that won't last forever :p

Kendra from Canada wrote: please and thank you 7 mayyyyybe 7.5. You have pretty good stats for fashion modeling (tall is always good and you're face is lovely!) I'm surprised you haven't shot more higher quality work. Some of the images aren't styled the best or don't have the best concepts which is what throws me off the most. Here's some examples of that: I just don't like the scrarf around your head, the fabric is too textured and it just reminds me of a towel, which just ruins it for me. Maybe if it was satin and shot a bit differently but this just isn't my fav Same styling issue here. Cool makeup but why's it so dramatic compared to what you're wearing, it just doesn't add up to me but really thats a photographer issue not yours. This image is stunning and really should be your avatar Great lighting, great expression; beautiful. Really keep shooting, I think you have serious potential!

Zachary Carpenter wrote: Would love to hear your thoughts! Oooo tough choice, it's kinda a mixed bad I think I'm gonna go with 6.5-7. I think you have some good images, just the bottom/some of your port doesn't match up with the rest of you work as much and looks less high end. these are great though, wonderfully lit, great composition and great styling Also really good, love to location and the concept and it's shot decently (I just wish it was a little sharper!) I also think the grass dress photo is a nice manipulation but the other one next to it just isn't as good, and almost might be better without the post work, or better if you just shot it in a really nice location.

Kristen Guerra wrote: Please do! It could help! I'm gonna have to say a 5, sorry. You just don't have professionally shot images in you port and the spot color and crazy makeup/post work just isn't anything high end. You have a pretty face though so you do have potential to take some higher quality images. I do like this one, minimal editing, simple and your eyes look crazy intense. This ones not too bad either, you look good the quality of the photo/the post work just isn't the best I really do think though that you need to part your lips and relax your face, especially in portraits. Keeping your lips pressed together can give a feeling of tenseness and since you're doing it in every picture it just looks like you're not comfortable in front of the camera. So many new models do this though I can't even tell you haha.
