Models, what do you think about having kids?
Hi models (female), I am just curious, do you have kids? and if you don't, do you plan on having kids in the future, if you do, do you plan on quitting modeling? I suppose it will be awkward for children to find picture of mommy posing sexily floating on the internet... thought? Jun 12 14 04:58 pm Link I can't have any children. I'm allergic. Jun 12 14 05:01 pm Link Amadea T wrote: +1000 Jun 12 14 05:57 pm Link I have 2 children. I am not careless with what's out there. I also monitor their computer use. I'm not too worried if/when it happens. It's art, not porn. I was married in a church that has classic sculptures, and gasp! all the figures are nude or barely draped. I'm not ashamed of my body. Jun 12 14 05:59 pm Link Yup yup. Running around Prague. Statues with tits out on the buildings and all. And then there are churches which hold lovely statues of little baby Jesus, completely undraped, suckling on the exposed Holy Mother's teat. In Amurucah such items might be misconstrued as blasphemous and/or incestuous child pornography... Catholic church doesn't seem to be vexed though. Jun 12 14 06:23 pm Link Amadea T wrote: Yes, it was a Catholic church in Europe and even has Michelangelo's art in it. So, I tell my kids all the time nudity is not a big deal and their father and I were married in such a place. I guess that is my way of preparing them if the issue does come up. Jun 12 14 06:26 pm Link Lol !!! I START MODELING ONLY AFTER I HAD TWO KIDS!!! Jun 12 14 06:29 pm Link J Jessica wrote: Jun 12 14 06:30 pm Link SHLERANI wrote: You have a great look! Jun 12 14 06:35 pm Link having kids as a model is always a no like huge no think Naomi Campbell tyra banks Janice dickinson all never had kids because its bad or your body and it widens your hips Jun 12 14 06:40 pm Link I don't see anything sexy related in your portfolio that you'd have to worry about..though, One famous canadian model I can think of (Pamela Anderson) has kids..i dunno to much about when she had them but, I think you'll find it's a pretty common occurance. I see a lot of high paying commercial/lifestyle/print/advertising work that requests images of mother w/kids or some sort of related concept. I suppose you could get models to fake it but it's a lot easier with the real thing, so when I hear about it I'm like "Oo! bonus!" Jun 12 14 06:41 pm Link michaelgielow wrote: That is total nonsense. Look at the ones who have had kids who already responded, myself included. Jun 12 14 06:42 pm Link Isis22 wrote: I photographed a model 4 months after she had a kid. Jun 12 14 06:43 pm Link Karl JW Johnston wrote: I'm not worry about me i'm just curious lol, I'm planning to quit regardless of kids or not anyway Jun 12 14 06:58 pm Link You do realize that some models are in fact male right? In fact there are models who are grandparents as well as moms and dads. Odd presumption in this thread... Jun 12 14 07:06 pm Link My son is 10. I plan to have at least one more. If my family can accept my naked body in compromising positions then so can my kid(s). If not, well they can start paying the rent, light, and water bill themselves. Jun 12 14 07:12 pm Link I would not be ashamed if they saw the images. I probably will be doing more commercial modeling by the time I'm that age. Jun 12 14 07:13 pm Link SHLERANI wrote: I love this model!! Jun 12 14 07:17 pm Link AJScalzitti wrote: How dare you bring logic onto this site, AJ. Jun 12 14 07:19 pm Link AJScalzitti wrote: My question is directed toward female, sorry I dint specify it from the start. of course I am aware that there are male models, but being a girl, I am interested in what other girls on here think. Karl JW Johnston wrote: It's my fault for not specify the target of my question, but wasn't aware that my questions were *illogical* while the majority of models on this site are young females.... Jun 12 14 07:51 pm Link I'm 31, have no children, and do not want any. Modeling has nothing to do with that choice; I just don't want kids. Jun 12 14 07:57 pm Link thanks to all the models who respond, for those who have kids and still working, bravo to you, to those who can straight out say that you don't want kid, I'm envious of you girls. For asian family like mine not having kids is like a crime to my parents... Jun 12 14 08:01 pm Link Phan Nguyen Nguyen wrote: I'm an only child, and my family has very conservative/traditional values, so they were REALLY devastated when I they realized that I actually wasn't having children. Jun 12 14 08:14 pm Link michaelgielow wrote: Uh Janis Dickinson did have kids. Jun 12 14 10:03 pm Link I will have kids. I don't know where my modeling will go. If I end up traveling&booking paid work all the time I'll probably not want to leave that, but modeling will expire eventually for me. Eventually. I haven't even gotten my feet wet yet(; And kids, who wants to think about that? Jun 12 14 10:42 pm Link I'm a newer model but I do have kids. They are the joy of my life. I never really liked kids until I had my own because I taught them how to not annoy me. They're great. As for the sexy pictures, they dont have to know (or even understand) until later, then well you have "the talk"...right? Jun 12 14 10:51 pm Link I have two kids. I balance modeling and mothering, I think, pretty well! I even travel sometimes! It is a bit hard to get the ol' body back to how it was, but it's doable!! Jun 13 14 12:55 am Link Danielle Reid wrote: You would have had him at 11 according to your bio then ? Jun 13 14 01:07 am Link I really want kids! I have this massive pressure right NOW if I could only be as irresponsible as some people and I wasn't ashamed of putting myself in a situation when I am not able to fully support my child I'd have at least 2 by now. But I do not want to depend on a government, parents or my other half, I need to make sure I have enough so everything has to be in order -> finish Uni -> find a job -> make babies! I don't know if I go back to modelling after, probably not because I won't have time for this, I'd like to spend as much time as I can with my kids, I'm very family orientated. Plus I don't even take modeling seriously, I've been trying for long time and I haven't achieved anything (apart of working with great photographers). Jun 13 14 01:32 am Link Phan Nguyen Nguyen wrote: If you are concerned about your body then don't be! You can go back to your previous shape, you have a great figure and having a baby won't change it, you will just have to work a bit harder for a while. But if you just don't like kids then don't have one for your family, this is your life darling. Anyway, your point of view might change because you are very young, I used to HATE kids till I was like 20 but them BOOOOM and some kind of baby fairy shoot me and now I really love them, I used to look after 6 children and it was just great. Jun 13 14 01:37 am Link I get the feeling that most models are against having children. Every time I've asked a model to get knocked up so we can do a TF maternity shoot, they just look at me strange and refuse. It's also entirely possible that those I've asked are not very serious about their modelling. Jun 13 14 02:21 am Link The only good thing about kids is making them..... Jun 13 14 02:50 am Link Garry k wrote: Didn't you know that that models often lower their age? Jun 13 14 04:26 am Link Isis22 wrote: And not only do other amateur/MM models have kids, tons of other huge, top models in the industry have children and still work. Arizona Muse, Karolina Kurkova, Mirands Kerr, just to name a few. . . so the idea that childbirth destroys your body and ruins your modeling career is completely untrue. Vogue has even shot Arizona and Karolina both WITH their children. Jun 13 14 04:37 am Link Phan Nguyen Nguyen wrote: I had my children first, modeling came second. I will model a lot more once my children are grown. Jun 13 14 06:46 am Link SHLERANI wrote: Same here. And one of mine is nearly as old as you are now. Jun 13 14 07:11 am Link I was 35 when I started modelling, 39 when I got pregnant and that event really helped my modelling take off as I got plenty of requests from photographers and artists to pose in the nude during the final months of my pregnancy. Most of my modelling has been done since that event. My child is now an adult who no longer lives at home, knows that mom is a nude art model, and is perfectly OK with that, having seen some of the work I have posed for hanging in various gallery displays and on the walls at home. Someday I expect a request for a tasteful drawing or painting of one of my poses, to be proudly displayed. I never let being a parent affect my modelling work, found ways to juggle free time so I could accept modelling assignments, and got family members to babysit if needed. Now almost 62, I have no intention of ever quitting modelling as long as I am physically able to pose. Jun 13 14 07:34 am Link I have kids and I still model. Jun 13 14 07:37 am Link |
