I honestly didn't believe that I'd live to see the Cubs win the World Series.  Holy cow.

Cubs fans and the Cubs organization owe this championship to this man.
He PROMISED big changes to come and he is a man of his word!!!
It only took 108 years but it was well worth the wait.
Hopefully many more years of winning Cubs baseball to come....

i honestly thought i'd never see this day, if i lived to be 100 years old. all the misery and heart break i've had to witness since 1969 (a small sample slice, in the overall scheme), and yet, here it is. and what a game! probably not the greatest game 7 ever, but certainly one of the best. what a roller coaster of emotions those last five innings were.

as a kid, i sat in wrigley field and watched ernie banks, ron santo, billy williams, fergie jenkins etc play, and always thought they'd find a way to do it. and into the '80s, it was guys like ryne sandberg, bull durham, jody davis, that made me think the same thing. and into the late '80s and early '00s. man, what a ride.

this is just awesome. the curse isn't just killed, it's buried in a 12' deep crater. what a win. i've been texting my brother in law, sister and old friends all series during the games, and this whole experience was exhilarating. i thought the rain delay might prove fatal, but it ended up working out. even though i was pulling hair that they left the bases loaded in the top of the 10th.

and the bottom of the inning was--at first--a breeze, then it ended up being a nail biter again.

oh, man...what a night.

Tip of the cap to the Chicago Cubs from a lifetime Cardinals fan.  I thought it was a great series, and the Cleveland Indians were a worthy opponent.  I'm glad that the curse is dead, and I'll be looking forward to the Central Division rivalry renewing in the Spring of 2017.

?? Why pull a starter who is doing great? Especially when the relievers are not as good and are tired? Was the Cubs Mgr. stoned or hypoxic? What was he thinking?

Much criticized as "idiotic," and darned near cost them the game.

Who cares?
You can question Maddens methods until doomsday but the final score will never change.

Cubs won.... period.

i believe the term is, "scoreboard."

first off, lester is not a reliever. he offered his services to maddon last night. he was shaky at the onset, but settled down. and why not criticize tito? miller was ineffective, and neither allen nor shaw were exceptional. the bull pen arms on both squads were gassed last night.

and tito had run out of position players in extra innings. having picked another arm for the world series cost him there. nobody in their right mind would have wanted martinez up in that spot, and it sealed the deal for the cubs.

note to lester: go see a fucking shrink this off season and deal with your ocd issues, dude. and you aren't going to have ross back next year. pitch to whomever the best catcher is on the squad. his ocd is so bad, that he has to have three signs given to him, even when there are no base runners. he's a wackadoo.

congrats to the Cubs.
live by the stadium for a few years, hung out with the maker of the Shawno meter for a handful of games.  Right out of ferris buller's day off.

procrastination is my sin, I need to finish my book on the true nature of the curse against the sox and cubs, and why is reversed.

love theo, did a great job with the sox and has a great attitude towards winning.

to paraphrase one his sayings.

"I try to get a team that will make the playoffs every year and then hope for the best"

I suspect he was thinking "I think this will win us the game".

And guess what.. it did.

I remember a call in radio show just after the blue jays won their second consecutive World Series. Someone called in and started criticizing gastons decisions during the last game.

It was ridiculous and the host knew it. Hung up on the guy and made fun of him for the next 10 minutes in the show.
