I am primarily a photographer (live music mostly) and generally prefer to be behind the camera as I am pretty shy and personally thing I'm unphotogenic. Although quite a few people have told me over the years I should become a model, it never really crossed my mind.

Recently I was contacted by a local photographer who likes to photograph people with alternative styles and he asked if I would do a shoot with him and I decided to give it a go. I did feel awkward and personally think I look terrible in the photos but they've had a great reception from everyone else so I figured I'd sign up to ModelMayhem and see what else I could get up to.

I would like to bring to attention the fact that a lot of people have skin conditions and show its nothing to be ashamed of or have to hide. I myself have psoriasis which, until recently, was localised to my face so I had huge red patches of dry skin on my face which severely dented my self confidence.

Another thing I would like to address is anxiety and mental health issues, as again I suffer with anxiety and a phobia myself. I had let it control my life for so long and believed I'd never achieve anything worthwhile but as of March 2014 I decided to punch life in the face and get out there and do things, which is pretty much how I've ended up here. I want to show other people with mental health issues that they can do things just as well as those without and that they don't have to hide away.
