I was wondering what the people who choose not to pose nude's reasons were?

I for one am really curious about the girls who choose not to pose at all. Y'know, for like... an actual photo shoot.

I just don't feel like it. Must I have a poignant and/or philosophical reason behind it? o_O

Before I did nudes, my reasons were: 1. I was simply nervous about it 2. I had a bf that wasn't comfortable with me doing it 3. I had a massage license at the time and I felt it was best that I didn't do any [that, and it was kinda against the rules] But now I'm single [sigh], my license is up and I'm not renewing it, and I've got over being nervous. It varies greatly upon each person. Sometimes it's rules, sometimes they just don't want to, or both.

I've told plenty of models to not give reasons beyond "I don't want to." If you start explaining, people can dispute the reasons, but if you just own your choice, they don't have much to go on. Honestly, while I'm happy to shoot "first time nude" models; I don't get the appeal of shooting someone, nude or otherwise, who doesn't want to be doing what they are.

Worried about their friends may find out that you are into nude? You don't want the GWC(s) to see what your body looks like? (I suspect that is the reason).

Precisely the reason for my thick, overly sarcastic statement. My avatar that I shot not to long ago was making excuse after excuse after excuse why she didn't want to pose nude (I wasn't trying to convince her, she just knew I had nudes in my portfolio). I just stopped her and said... "You know what, I don't care what your reasons are, as I'm not asking you to pose nude... it's a non-nude concept which is why we are working together." Later in that conversation I just simply said "It doesn't matter what your reasons are, as it's none of my business... all you need to say is 'I don't want to'." Done and Done.

Well, there is that. Does it count as doing nudes if you get naked, but never actually model?

I said this is the other thread last week. It's the best way I can put it. I might be a bit "cocky." But I think someone has to be pretty damn special to be lucky enough to see me naked. That's literally how I see it. I like having control over who sees me naked. I don't want just any creep to get to see me. I won't do it for Vogue or any publication no matter how popular or respected and I wouldn't do it for a billion dollars either. Money doesn't mean THAT much to me. There is NO amount of money to get me naked. I'm not up for sale. I do not put others down for being willing to do nudes, nor do I ever wonder why they choose to do nude modeling. Not sure why it is such a question as to why some of us don't. That's all I've got to say about that, lol.

Now that you've said it, just wait and see someone will end up using it for something. Either not doing nudes or flaking, lol. I think most reasons are kind of easy to think of. So if there is someone that is very special to you and wants you to pose nude for someone else in exchange of monetary compensation. You and him (or her) probably would do it for a small portion of that one $billion dollars. Never say never.

I'm with ya there. Some people can only feel good about themselves when they refuse to expose themselves to any kind of criticism from others. Like, "If I only look in the mirror at myself, I can convince myself that I am something I may not actually be. If I let someone else judge me, I may get the harsh truth". You see it all the time, exspecially on Facebook and MySpace

Nude or clothed - it's a personal choice. It's not right and it's not wrong.. simply a matter of choice by the model . I don't do nudes - my choice. I have my reasons and whether someone likes those reasons or not, it's their problem not mine. Most people find it surprising that one of my reasons is that I'm a minister (now) and I'm trying to raise funds to build/start my ministry to help disadvantaged children. I doubt some of my staunch supporters would appreciate it (esp. considering that I live the Bible Belt of ubber conservative (often narrow minded) business people). plus I'm not comfortable being naked ... or even in a bikini...LOL

In Human Resources, when we reject a C.V., our company policy states we do not give a reason why we reject so that the candidate cannot start an argument about our reasons.

Yeah, but the subject of nudity brings out the mentally challenged. Do you know there are thousands of people in America who actually took their children to counseling over Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction? And let's not forget the "honorable" Mr. Ashcroft and his fear of the symbology of justice. I truly don't care what someone's reason is for not posing nude. It's their choice to make, some people have good reasons, and they don't owe me an explanation. That said, if they choose to offer an explanation and start spouting irrational and/or hypocritical BS, I'm not obligated to pretend I'm buying it.
