I shave mine.
I think models who have light or pale skin with dark hair really should. It could also depend on the project, like if you have a back light and the arm is at the side angle, the hair will show through the light and cast a shadow, lol.
Also, models who have tattoos should as well, no one wants to see hairy art work tongue

My cousin shaves her arms. But she does it because she is a make up artist for Benefit Cosmetics, and people don't really like having a hairy arm in their face when getting their make up done... lol

Yeah, I have no idea how I've made it through life so far without doing something so clearly necessary.

I've noticed the same thing.

I think it's up to the model to decide if she want's hairy arms or not. If the hair is very dark, it really can stand out in an image and be a bit of a distraction.

Actually it is if you are doing swimsuit, lingerie or fashion or anything that shows your arm. smile.  Some has more hair than others.  This of course also depends on the model's skin tone and the color of her hair.  Some are just less visible than others.

A hairy arms are like hairy legs.

I actually have a worse problem with the callouses forming on my hands as my knuckles drag the ground. And, do you realize how hard it is to shape eyebrows when your forehead protrudes so much?

Arm shave? That's the least of my problems! smile

Long long long time ago I dated this girl and she don't ever shave her legs or anywhere.  Her hair was so fine and thin that it is impossible to see.  Even when touch, it is hardly noticeable.

i shave my arms for several reasons: pale skin, black hair, tattoos, and it feels so nice and smooooth!!! an ex of mine shaves his arms too cause he has sleeves on both arms. i love smooth skin against smooth skin... =]

and i do think it really takes away from a photo when an otherwise beautiful girl has noticeably hairy arms. it's not my idea of feminine beauty. but everyone has their own, right?

so if you like your hair, no one's saying you have to shave. but you may find some folks who'd prefer you smooth. it's like anything else.. if one person doesn't dig it, you can be sure that someone else will.

Some of my Asian girlfriends or models had hardly any hair, even in their 20's/30's. So to see a very hairy model in a photo is a big no no to me.

I have dark hair.

It's a must, really.

Girls with naturally light hair, both in color and thickness, generally don't see it as being necessary, and I agree.

But if I didn't, I'd probably look like Miss Natural up there.

I bought a professional waxing kit complete with warmer, strips, hard and creme wax... It has saved me ALOT of money by waxing my own bikini, underarms, and legs! But one day I got "Wax happy" and did my forearms now I have to keep it up and it's annoying sad

Ha, right now I do look like Ms. Natural up there, and I've never had any complaints from lovers or friends.  The only people who really care are you guys, apparently, and, seriously, I wasn't planning on screwing anyone in this thread to begin with.

I have pale skin and dark hair.  I bleach the hair on my arms periodically, but I'm not prepared to walk around with 5 o'clock shadow on my arms. I find something off-putting about seeing a woman with that post-shave look head-to-toe.  You can tell the difference between shaved flesh and someone who just naturally isn't very hairy.

i'm sure it hasn't been discussed as many times as "will getting a tattoo affect my modeling?"
by now just about everything's been brought up at least once.

you're obviously comfortable with your body hair. that's awesome.
some folks prefer their models/ladies smooth. it's not that big of a deal.

As this convo is kind of strange i have to say really, us girls shave everywhere else already, is it really necessary to shave our arms now too!  I mean, I am not hairy at all so I would NEVER do that, but maybe if you looked like a guerilla or something then I would say do it! smile WHAT?
