I love that I may find models here at Model Mayhem, but I can't always tell whether the models are willing to pose nude. Models: I suggest you explicitly state whether you are willing to consider nude work in your profile. I know some models will consider nude work even if the images in their profile are all non-nude. Others get offended, even with the most polite & respectful request for nude work. I don't want any model I contact to be offended when I request that they pose nude. I try to be polite, but sometimes, I just am asking at the wrong time. Ideally, I would love to be able to browse/search with a "will consider nude work" filter. I have done real well with this email. Replys are returned by about one in four sent, which is good for models with no nude images. (Ask one hundred, get twenty five replies.) ********************************** ************************************ "If you ever decide to update your portfolio, with some job getting images, let me know. Your only cost would be some gas and the courage to do something different. Please check me out by doing a Google search on my name. Open to your thoughts and questions." *********************************************** ****************************************************** I do not mention Nude, or will you pose Nude, but I am sure they look at my profile, and images before they reply. I have never had any nasty replies from this email, and when the models did replied, they were friendly and nice. Their most ask question is, How much do you pay? Some said that they might want to do a nude shoot later, and would keep me in mind.

Hey...she probably could even learn something...leading one to think of naked photoshoots...lol. I was talking to Mick R about Mikey's shootout here in Dec...and there are three nude model/photogs, and I think we should all do a naked model session and all shoot each other naked and let the other photographers shoot us shooting each other naked. i can't do the math in my head..but that seems like a lot of nakedness..

May sound a silly question, but if you dislike internet models so much, why are you on an internet based site? Whats the point

What are these photographers here for? I personally wouldn't spend my time hanging around a campus with a board saying "I'm sick of photographers who hang around internet sites bitching about internet models" That would make me look like a disgruntled bitter person with an axe to grind.

Wow...it's amazing to me how much so many photographers on this post look down at the models who don't pose nude. It's also amazing how many photographers contact new models and ask to shoot nudes when their profiles clearly state "no nudes." Is there really no place in the world ( or THIS MM world??) for models who don't want to pose nude? I think that every model has the right to decide what she will and won't do....free speech works both ways, doesn't it? My aspirations aren't Maxim or Playboy.....but I'd love to be in Vogue or Cosmo or even in Better Homes and Gardens! Seems to me that most of THOSE models have most of their clothes on, don't they? I agree that it's only fair to state your restrictions up front. But it's also only fair to respect the boundaries that we all have. "Nekkid ain't always better...clothed bods can be purty, too!"

Afraid it's a no-win situation. If it's what you wanna do, you just gotta do the best you can and continue being polite and just take the lumps that go with it. You can't please everyone. I agree. That's what happened to me on "another" site. Given that the other site does draw in more GWC and adult entertainment companies, but regardless I was bombarded with "okay I have a nude shoot coming up, umm it requires one toy and spreads. are you interested?" And I believe I only put up erotic and fine art (in the nude sense) But you'll get that, and I decided to remove it from my profile. But it still happens. I guess for a photog you either take your chance and ask, and if you're a model don't mention you do it or if you do mention it sift through the messages about toys and spreads!

It seems that MM doesn't have time to deal with simple, practical things like this because they're too busy fixing things that aren't broken. The entire browse/search feature should be modified to more closely resemble the way it's handled at MuseCube.

Nice touch Jason, I could care if a model is willing to shoot nude, 99.5% of my work is clothed, so I'm good like that. HAHAHA And your point is what? J.

I understand the reluctance of any particular model, even if they're willing to shoot in some degree of nudity in the right circumstances, to broadcast that to the public. So if I'm talking to a particular model about a particular theme, I can say, "I am planning to shoot at a barbwire fence. Among other things, it will involve closeups of the model's chest, clothed, in a bra, and unclothed, pressing against one of the barbwire strands. Let me know if this is not acceptable." If the model protests, then I know that I either need to find another model or go ahead but with limitations. If I'm running around, picking up themes spontaneously, then the themes will have to fit to the model's comfort level. Simple enough. I'm not making moral judgments on any of this. Some themes work better with less or no clothing, that's all. Some models are not comfortable with less clothing. If the photographer isn't sure, then ask first or live with what you get. It's not a big deal, at least to me. Example: I think this works better with no clothing than with. That's just how it goes sometimes. And thanks, Betcee May.
