I'm am cosplayer! Been doing it for a couple of years now. What brought me here is that I was looking for a photographer to do a shoot with, that can capture the heroic stances and comic book feel. smile

I'm a cos-player and did a shoot as a modern Marquisa de Sade and as a post-apocalyptic paratrooper who landed in Copley Square in Boston - I prefer to fuse ideas from movies, video games, and animation and come up with something totally new.   Most recently I've been doing 1770s era Bucaneer costumes for pirate fests - see my etsy TrenDevian site and worked at the Wizard World New Orleans comic con as Delerium.  10 points if you can name that graphic novel.

Most of my portfolio is currently cosplay. I've done quite a few other costumes than what's in my gallery, but need professional photoshoots done with them.

I want to cosplay as Lulu from FFX

I saw an absolutely PERFECT Lulu at a mini-con I went to in Leeds a couple of months ago. It works amazingly as a cosplay xD

And to reply to the topic; yeah I love cosplay (and anime in general). Haven't actually done proper cosplay shoots yet and I need to get practising with a needle because I'm incapable of sewing so can't make my own costumes at the moment xD
Last one I did was Misa Amane but it was literally some clothes I already had that she'd probably wear, a blonde wig and a Death Note. Unfortunately the wig went bye bye because the damn thing got all tangled and destroyed when I put it in my bag. It was a cheap wig, so I suppose it was to be expected.

The shoot I would absolutely love to do is Lightning from FFXIII when she becomes a Valkyrie. Actually growing my hair to be like hers anyway so it would probably make sense as well.

I know a girl who's an actual genius when it comes to making cosplay costumes. She's actually becoming renowned, she's that good. My favourite was when she did Harley Quinn. She looked absolutely amazing. Wish I had her talent, she has too much for one person if you ask me. Genius.

I've worked on a couple of cosplays in the past, and I am currently working on one of Idris from Doctor Who for the convention season.

I'm also a cosplaying model. Funny thing was, I wore the costume while not knowing who the character was (it was Celty). The photographer was a big anime fan though and my best friend.

I cosplay and go to a handful of conventions on the east coast ... Sadly I only had 2 photographers on MM showered interest in capturing me in such costumes so I never bring it up.

I'm the youngest person to currently have a grandmaster status in the Cosplay Masquerade Circuit. n__n Sorry, had to say it. my only life's accomplishment Heh.

I've done some photography for cosplay magazines.

Really! Is this from the ICG (International Costumer's Guild)? Because I know Dawn "Kaijugal" McKechnie has earned a 'Lifetime Achievement' for her work in promoting/running/generally being amazing at, but I've never even heard of 'Grandmaster' in their competition division,  and the good folk running costume con 32 haven't either.

Specifically outlined here: http://www.otakuthon.com/2008/pdf/TheSt … _FINAL.pdf

And while I know not all of North America adheres to ICG standards, they are the only sort-of agreed upon system of recognition outside of local conventions

For those in the Toronto area there's a large cosplay picnic this weekend at Centre Island, perhaps some MM'ers might be interested?

I love cosplay and would jump at the opportunity to do some cos-shoots.  Oddly, I don't find many people that into cosplay in the New Orleans area that want to shoot.  If any cosplay models are in the New Orleans area and want to set up a shoot let me know.

I'd do a Cosplay shoot with you if you could take me to meet the guys from Duck Dynasty!!

Kidding, sorta.

But on topic, I am a Cosplay model and I also do steampunk! Which seems to be getting really popular now and it kinda makes me sad.

I'm incredibly interested in cosplay modelling! It's of many reasons why I wanted to get involved in the modelling world. The first time I went to the modelling agency in my town, the lady asked if I'd be interested in modelling for the runway show at SoDakCon- the local anime convention in my town.
That was 7 months ago...and I just finished being part of it 2 weeks ago. It was amazing. I love dressing up, especially as cool characters from shows I love...but even more, i'd love to actually be part of a real cosplay shoot. As long as someone else makes the clothes xD

I love shooting cosplay and do so whenever I get the chance.  Although I prefer trying to take the photography out of a con setting if I can.  Recently participated in a group outing to a museum in Pennsylvania and had a blast.

Fan Expo starts this weekend in Toronto. It's never occurred to me before, but this year I should ask the cosplayers I photograph if they're on MM, you never now! If any MM'ers want to say "hi" drop me a line, I'd love to see what new costumes show up.
