Can I at least have a furry bird?

Birds don't have fur, but this guy does.

You have your facts wrong.  That's not my first-date outfit.  That's the outfit my blind date wore on our first date.

I take unbrage (?) at that statement. Never under-estimate the power of a good nap!

Any nap you wake up from is a good one. smile  Though to be fair and balanced, I have known some pretty intense pre-schoolers

So why all the wildlife photos lately?  Models too cranky?

Actually, I have a shitload of wildlife shots in my catalog.  Having mastered the Animal Kingdom in making them bend to my will, I thought I'd give a shot to working with people.  So I'm basically here to learn and experiment.

However, some of my experiences have made me miss my furry and feathered friends.  I can make a crocodile look cuddly, but I have a lot of work to do with people.

Well we expect less of animals except being visible I guess.  But models and wild animals you can both bribe with cookies.

Are you kidding?  Animals are emotional critters with feelings, but they can also evoke emotions among people.  Now tell me that this man-eater doesn't look like something you want to scratch under her chin.

the largest lens I have is 70mm, I like to be in close to the model when I work.... can't really do that with wildlife unless I have true ninja skills.  I'd need a super zoom.  What do you shoot with?.... oh yeah, i'd need a certain kind of patience as well.  I can tell models what to do and what time to do it.

I shot this one with my 70-200mm f/2.8 VR.  That was the one big enough to club baby seals.  It does really great portraits, too.

You're absolutely right about patience.  It takes time for the animals to get used to your presence before they determine you aren't a threat or an easy meal, and then they get back to doing whatever the hell it is that animals do.  The big cats are usually boring because they sleep all day long, unless it's cold.  Gorillas can be pretty active, but sometimes they get visibly pissed at the tourists over at Animal Kingdom, and then just turn their backs or refuse to move.  Most people only spend a minute or two, but I'll wait for 30 minutes to an hour for some interesting behavior.

What else am I going to do?  Go on a date with Baloo?

When you do go on your date with Baloo though remember to use the claw when you pick the prickly pear but you don't need to use the claw when you pick a pear of the big paupau

Today is haircut day for me too. Lucky hairstylist gets to have me cough all over her. Poor girl.

The rain is preventing me from being motivated to go to the gym. Oh yeah, my throat's doing that too... damnit. Like that's really what I need to be doing today... stupid obsessions.

I believe in gym days, but not if you're sick.  Your body needs rest in order to heal and you'll be spreading your nastiness to others who don't want or need it.  If you're that sick, stay home.
