So as I have been recovering, I have been sending in polaroids into agencies and what not, just to see if I had a shot. I got a couple replies. But they are somewhat confusing. I have been signed to Chics beauty division(which almist anyone can be) and I went in to see if I could get signed to the actual agency. The agent said I have a very different look and that she likes my face but that I would need to drop about 15-20 more lbs since I'm so short. (5'7). So then I took a shot at commercial agencies and I got back that I'm too different looking, and then for glamour I am not "pretty" enough.
So I have no idea where I fit in...

Is dropping the 15-20lbs not doable? It sounds like she left you an open door if you just drop the weight.

Give it some time.

Someone will surely come in to tell you that you are beautiful.

Whether or not I agree with that inevitable poster, if you have been to agencies and were turned down, you have two options.

1.  Keep trying til you run out of agencies.
2.  Give up and model as a hobby.

I would tell you to explore/research art modeling, but you state that you don't pose nude and I'm not sure how much art modeling occurs with clothes on as I don't know much about art modeling.

well I am already really toned. I have no idea how to get to 110. I work out like crazy now. Unless I upped to working out twice a day and then gave up eating... I dunno. Has anyone else ever gone from 125 to 110?

Well, I don't know much about modeling in general; I am but a n00b myself, however all the art modeling I have done required nudity....maybe they just were tricking me in to taking my clothes off...

haha thanks. I have only been to one agency personally and that was CHIC, the rest I sent in snapshots. I might as well give that 15-20lbs a shot...

Based on what I see,at this point, I'm inclined to agree with #2.

What I meant was......very rarely have I seen art models wearing an outfit.
They are usually nude, even if they have a cloth or hands or a plant or whatever obscuring the view of the goodies.

Since the OP won't pose nude, I couldn't give her that option because, well, it would be silly.

I did once. Much like you, I worked out all the time.

To loose the weight, I had to work out 2-3 hours a day 6 days a week. 2+ hours of Cardio run\bike, weight training, etc etc. Plus never eating anything tasty.

I was skinny, but I don't think it was worth it.

PRETTY has very little to do with modeling..  Pretty is a dime a dozen, the question is if you bring something INTERESTING to the table..

find out what you do well and do lots of it..

eh that sounds horrible. I used to do only 45 minutes a day 3 days a week. I recently just upped it to 5 days with an hour and a half. Its been one week so far so Im hoping maybe I'll get somewhere close...

I tried that too.
For like 2 months, it did nothing at all. If you're already fit, it takes a drastic  (insane) increase to change your body.   Even the trainers at the gym wanted me to go home lol.

lol. Ya I just got back into working out because I have been bed-ridden for the last three months. So I'm hoping that with alot of energy and motivation I can start like this and then in about 3 weeks I'll probably move up to doing two-a-day workouts...

Dear OP

You seriously need some better pics in your port.

I find it's odd you been on here for 6 months and no pics from photoshoot

See, this is a classic example of someone who doesn't read for shit.
Now before you get all pissy, how about you go take a lookie loo at her words, then come back and respond.

Thats okay. It has been hard getting back into it. I have an amazing photographer on hold because my jaw is still bruised and a little swollen from my surgeries. I should be okay to get back into in March. So look out... lol

one more thing I forgot to mention about my diet... Is I don't touch junk food. My dad doesnt let it in my house. I eat almost all organic foods. I only drink water and 3-4 cups of tea a day. So I don't really know where to cut back food-wise...

Sounds like you're at your natural weight. Your thought attempt to lose it makes me nervous.

A lot of very successful models were turned down from many agencies when they were just starting out, so don't worry so much about being rejected - you just have to keep trying!

Also, what type of modeling are you interested in?  A lot of "alternative" modeling agencies were made in part due to "different" people who were turned away from more commercial agencies for being "too different" as you say, and formed and supported by folks who grouped up to start a counter-culture and form new standards for what is considered "pretty"...  and personally, I really like that kind of look.

me too!

Try other agencies.
If I were you, I'd work on making my look more appealing to commercial agencies. That might mean a natural hair color with a slight curl, and natural/youthful make-up (might I suggest less eyeliner).

I'm not very familiar with glamour modeling, but I've heard that a good MUA can make the shoot. Look into hiring one or seeing if any are available for trade in your area.

fuggetaboutit..........

You look great! Forget agencies, I mean really it's fucking Georgia, not much to do out there for a fashion model anyway.  Freelance! Fuck them, forget losing 15lbs, you are only 120, just say no!.........

The odds of being successful are so slim, just do it as a hobby. I mean honestly it's not worth investing into and it's a bit too late for you! You are 26yrs old. Make it a hobby.

In all seriousness, it's not worth chasing.

If I were you, I would try changing my look to something more interesting.  Maybe a platinum pixie cut or something.  Think of how many 'long haired brunettes' you are in competition with.  Stand out.

Skinny or fat are NOT healthy.

STAY HEALTHY whatever that weight means.

If someone is toned and at 1-3% body-fat, then the only way to lose weight is to lose muscle, and that is NOT healthy.

Fit and toned is good.
And if that means someone is not appropriate for an artificial standard, then so be it. Health ALWAYS trumps a job.

Thought I would make it a generality and not deal with any personal specifics.

I think you should come to Florida, and shoot with everyone named "SOS"  .  .  .  wink  Nah, just give it some time, agencies can be very fickle, what one says is perfect, another says is too heavy, too thin, too tall, too short  .  .  .  keep submitting, it just takes the right eyes on your images to get the right sorts of attention  .  .  .

Easiest solution would be to just have Tereza set something up for you.  If you're signed and booking work in LA, it'd probably look impressive in a rinky dink town like ATL (and before anyone jumps on my case, I lived there for 13 years).  Use your connections to your advantage.

Yup.

It's not healthy, it's very hard on your delicate psyche (if you are anything like me and actually enjoy food) and your skin will take a toll.

Also I think that you'd look a little on the anorexic side, with 110 at 5'8".

What you can to is give up caffeine, sodas, any kind of processed foods, eat natural (the fewer ingredients the better), eat small portions of nutrient rich foods, lots of good fats (yes, eat fat!!! Avocados, nuts, etc. )

In a month you should notice a significant change in how your skin sits on your body, the antibiotics from meats and acids from coffee and tea and processed foods will be expelled by your natural fat cells by then and I'm fairly sure you'll drop at least 5 lbs naturally without killing yourself at the gym.

Which of course also works, but then you have lactic acid, and your appetite WILL increase and you'll be grumpy bitch.

So take a breath, look at yourself in the mirror, buy a decent set of make up brushed and watch youtube tutorials on glamor  make up.
Then see who's right.

I think you are gorgeous as you are.

And the last trumped-up little shit of a 'designer' who asked me to lose weight, well let me say he was not pleased with my response.
But that's okay, since he never paid anyone and never even put so much as lining in his fucking 50 year old vintage silk gowns.

Heads up, honey.
Welcome.
