Awesome picture. Looooove painting with light shots, and that color is pretty sweet.

I have experimented with painting w/ light before, but I don't have any pics on MM from it.
here's one of my experiments though, from almost 3 years ago on my ghetto Kodak camera when I knew next-to-NOTHING about photography:

I really want to try it again, though.

Edit: Just realized I'm signed in on my model port, whoops!

I tried something like it with an in-studio shoot for a band (not so pretty band).  This is what it looked like straight out of the camera... We never used it (and I'm glad cause I hate it) so I don't have a retouched version.

Exposure was 24 Seconds @ f/20. I popped the strobes at the end of the capture using a pocket wizard.

BTW, the name of the band is "The Bad Apples".

Not "graffiti" style, but my current avatar picture was done with light painting.

edit: well, I changed my avatar, so here's the light painting photo:

A couple of light paint samples in my portfolio, all 18+, so no photos here. :-(

I did an accordion book of alt-process prints using IR film and light painting a few years ago. Lots of work but also lots of fun.

Plans in the works for some outdoor light painting fun this summer.

Didn't TCM use it about five years ago, or was it longer, in their promos for featured directors and actors?

I've done light painting in the past, but nothing I created was worth saving. This thread is motivating me make some attempts again though.

I like the opening post - clever idea.

A lot of work for one picture.

I wonder if that concept might benefit from a small second curtain fill flash to clean up the grain on the guy in the chair?

I play with light painting some. I have found that film works better with the long exposures. Digital seems to get noisy with long exposure. All 18+

can someone explain how this one is possible? was there a low-power flash used to capture the people? i don't see how else it could have been done without blurring the people.
