Im asking for a friend actually who doesnt have MM... I was wondering if there was an "industry standard" for charging per hour for posing nude? I believe there is and I just have no clue what it is... and I dont want my friend who Im working with to be ripped off.. he has no idea what to charge and neither do I.

Thanks : )

and please only serious male models who are at the level of charging need comment... You might know what you WANT to charge.. but if you are not a pro yet and don't know the industry standard please disregard.

It really varies. I have gotten as much as $100 an hour, and know some guys get more. I have also gotten paid TF** and different wages up. With figure modeling for art classes, those are about $15-$30 per hour depending on the school, photographer, artist, etc.

Only have done TF* so far. I have heard rates of $20 to $60 hr for art projects in my area.  Probably hard to nail down a standard since it is a very small and inconsistent market in most areas.

Sorry but I think you are going to find that male nude rates are all over the place.  I usually receive $20-$40 per hour for nude art classes with 3 hr min.  But there was a recent discussion on here about how in some areas the rates are as low as $10 per hour.

Photo nudes are even worse.  The most I ever received was $75 per hour for 2 hours.  I have been offered as much as $1000 for a 4 hour shot, but it went way beyond just solo nudes and was not something I really wanted to get into.  Of course I am not a young stud model anymore either and I do have my limits as to what I will do.

I guess it is just not that hard to find guys who will pose nude. Your friend probably needs to just ask how much they were expecting to pay and then decide if it is something he wants to do.

When posing, I accept $25/hr for artists/drawing groups, and $75/hour for photography. Both require a 2 hour minimum, and I ask for a CD of (portfolio) images for photography, and permission take a picture on the final product on a drawing piece. It's a bit high for males, I know, but athletic males aren't always easy to find, and I often have to take a day off from work, plus drive 1 hour plus to the gig...

What a coincidence; I eat dinner and like to travel. big_smile

OK, fun aside. Yes, rates are all over the road depending what, where, etc...
The big difference, female models are usually more expensive.

I recently paid $1,000 to a male model for a 3 hour semi-nude photo shoot.  I got some great shots for my portfolio, so I think it was money well spent.

AM I INSANE??

There is for women but the 'industry' work opportunities for nude men, tends to be narrower - true Fine Art or closer to Porn most prevalent

so depending on use - those fees for a nude guy will vary a lot

Hi just paid £45 per hour for most recent model
and managed to get him 6 hours work.

I have paid a lot more but as a club we have agreed to paying £40
for males per hour.

As a plus-sized hairy stomach male model, I get paid to refrain from being nude. Rates vary, but the going rate is usually somewhere between a 6-pack of beer and a 12-pack of beer. My abs are more of a keg than a 6-pack, but I can do a mean impression of a female jogger.

Yeah -- I know, I'm a dumbass, but I'm really bored.

If it makes you feel any better, I just spent about that much on my photo shoot Saturday.

Camera/lens rental: $300
Models (2 female clothed/nude/2 hours): ~$300+
Costume/accessories/props: ~$600

I feel sick thinking about it, but these are fantastic photos, probably the best I have ever produced.

A definitive answer is going to be impossible to achieve as the driving factor is market forces.

If your area is inundated with male models happy to work nude and all in such physical condition that they can get work - rates will be lower as there is greater competition.

If there are no male models within 500 miles willing to do nude work the model that is happy to disrobe can charge a higher premium as long as he doesn't sell himself out of the market.

Any model can earn whatever its worth a photographer / artist to get them in front of their lens etc depending on their USP (if they have one).

Also, the level of nude work work will also make adjustments for the rate in the same way it does for female models.
