The Beginners Rope Bondage Photography workshop is here.

If you have ever wanted to learn how to do bondage, this is the workshop for you.  By attending ,  you will learn how to use rope to create your own works of art.  The day starts with group instruction on the gear used and how to safely use it.  Then instruction progresses to the underlying structures of knots.  Students taught with this method have better retention when asked to re-tie various knots.  Seven categories of knots with examples of each are explained in detail.  Techniques for recognizing which knot to use for any given situation and remembering how to tie it will come in handy both in and out of the studio.  By the end of the class each student will be able to tie more than 15 knots.   The bondage portion of the class doesn’t end with knots.  Body dynamics and how they relate to binding will be discussed.  Four specific methods of Shibari will be covered and students will have an opportunity to utilize what they have learned during photo shoot sessions.  In the end this is a photography workshop.   Lighting is a broad topic and really makes each photographer unique.   Time will be spent on the specific challenges of lighting a bondage set and the basic techniques used.  Finally, post production of images in Photoshop will be discussed.  You will not be shown a $200 plug-in and told to use this, all the processes used to achieve the effects seen will use a stock CS2 install.  Techniques for enhancing  models skin,  form, make-up and shadows will be covered along with a dirty little secret that will take many photographers to the next level in editing.

Each student will receive Japanese hemp ropes from Vintage Rope and a rescue hook from Benchmade as part of the class.  I hope to see you there.

Even though I am not attending this event - I wanted to say that out of all the "bondage workshop" events that I have seen on MM, this one appears to be one of the most well thought out, specific to the subject events ever. If anyone is seriously interested in learning about bondage, Eric Cain knows not only how to work with a form but also how to light and frame the work for a quality image.

Most of the other bondage workshops that I've looked at are cranked out along with other frequent group gatherings featuring "hot babes" and the urgency to whip out your check book.

It is very refreshing and reassuring to see that this event is available.

I would concur with JVS that this looks like an excellent workshop.  Eric Cain's rope work and bondage photography is superior and about as good as it gets.  I have worked with Xaina several times and she is a wonderful bondage model.  I highly recommend this workshop and looks like it is well worth the investment.

Don't know that I can make it but I'll endorse the people involved, all are excellent! Eric knows his stuff inside and out and Xaina is an amazing model.

You all are forgetting to mention PF! His work is so intricate even I get a headached trying to watch him tie me. More then I"ll every understand! I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Now to answer another question I have been asked.

Yes we will be feeding your stomach as well as your brain.

The rope supplier may change,  Unfortunately Damon and Claire from Vintage rope have had a family emergency and have been unable to attend to the business.  Don't worry, If Vintage can't supply the rope the back up supplier is Twisted Monk.  For those of you who know, Twisted Monk is also one of the premier hemp rope suppliers and their rope is also of the highest quality.

Wish I could attend this!  I agree with JSV and LowDown that this is a VERY well thought out bondage workshop.  I wish I could be there to watch some real masters of rope work and knot some stunning cords.

The rope will be ordered this weekend so if you want a choice of color you need to sign up before midnight Friday.

Due to the MM outage over the past few days the deadline to sign up and have your choice of rope colors will be extended to midnight Monday.

Tonight's the night for your last chance to sign up and get your choice of rope colors.  You can choose from black, red, green, purple, pink or natural.  This is high quality hemp and it takes a little while to make.  After tomorrow you will receive the natural color.

The rope has been ordered as well as the hooks.  Everyone who picked a color has that color comming otherwise it will be natural.  I ordered some green for myself but I could be talked out of it.  There are a few openings left so if your on the fence you will need to make up your mind by the 4th, registration will close on that date...

I can't wait to see you all...

The hooks are in,  I like this model, It is a little more comfortable in the hand than mine.  But then again it dosent have an oxygen wrench

I still have materials for 2 more openings, maybe only one by the end of the week.
