Pubic Hair?
Nov 21 13 04:51 pm Link Don't care for a bush at all. Nov 26 13 04:31 am Link Skyler Bleu wrote: 1. You don't shoot nudes. Why are you in this thread? Nov 26 13 04:42 am Link When I started shooting models, I was on the phone with a model before the upcoming shoot and she comes out and asks me how I want her grooming. There was a certain, inherent humor in the situation to me; a woman I had yet to meet in person asking me whether I wanted shaved or bald. FWIW: I don't care for "thick", and somewhat prefer shaved to unshaved, but it's really a small thing. How the model poses, and looks at the camera, and carries herself is more more important. Nov 26 13 04:52 am Link ... that reminds me on a song of Dave Brubeck called 'briar bush' - this was in the fifties - nice song, however, in styling retro, very retro ... (or fetish) Nov 26 13 04:55 am Link Hello zombie thread!! I'm sure I've said this before, but I don't grow mine out. I did once for a shoot, and had someone waiting with a razor as soon as my plane landed. I don't have nice pubic hair, it's light colored, patchy and scruffy and looks like a teenager's attempt at a beard. It's ugly. I shoot almost exclusively art nudes and fetish. Nov 26 13 06:56 am Link Shandra Stark wrote: I agree completely!!!! Nov 26 13 07:08 am Link Why the debate? This is not a 'Yes' 'No' discussion. A photograph carries a message (or should) and the look of the model, the lighting, the setting, the perspective of the image, the context and so on will create that message. Pubic hair or no pubic hair is part of the image - to re-inforce, or otherwise be a non part of the message. One might just as well debate whether models should be short or tall, blonde or brunette, young or mature. It takes months to grow back pubic hair and the in-between period is not attractive. Nov 27 13 11:40 am Link I used to have a preference for hair when shooting nudes but no longer. As long as the model is well shaven, it's fine. Nov 27 13 12:09 pm Link Nov 27 13 03:11 pm Link Gentle fuzz versus wall to wall carpet? Each model has to decide if they have an asset or...... Nov 27 13 03:21 pm Link I don't think there's a huge "demand" for either, I think it's all just based on preferences and what the whole shoot's goal/idea is. Personally, I like to be natural. So I go with "trimmed", which looks really pretty. Or a little patch/landing strip. I would shave for a photographer if it was truly necessary... Nov 29 13 12:03 am Link Eastfist wrote: I just like gorgeous women period... Nov 29 13 12:13 am Link They would have to pay me A LOT to grow any pubic hair for a shoot. I would only do it for the shoot then off it comes! lol. I am hairless literally from head to toe, I only have a fringe/rest of my head is shaved, no eyebrows...I like to be completely smooth. Just my preference for my own self. Nov 30 13 01:09 am Link i guess having pubic hair makes the photograph looks more artistic rather than just a nude picture. Nov 30 13 04:36 am Link From my point of view as a photographer... It would depend on the concept I'm shooting. Some times shaved would not look right and if you don't get that you don't understand being congruent in your themes and concepts. From my personal view. It's hard to find a women that's not shaved these days. I would prefer a trim neat triangle/patch like the playboy style pubic hair of about 10-12 years ago, or landing strip it gives my targeting system something to lock on to...lol or shaved is my second choice. Nov 30 13 11:12 pm Link this thread is so old it's got whiskers. Dec 14 13 04:51 am Link Personal grooming doesn't really matter to me. I've shot models who shave or wax religiously. I've also shot models who have never seen a razor. For some of the commercial work I've done, it depends on what the client is wanting or needing. I work regularly with a model that shaves and we accepted a contract for a shoot that requires her to not shave. She's growing it out now. The client asked for her specifically and she agreed. I really like both personally as it gives a variety to my models. I honestly do not understand the aversion to hair that seems to be pervading society now. But, as a photographer, unless I require one way or the other, I'm not really concerned about it. Dec 15 13 09:04 pm Link I'm frequently temped to TF with a beautiful girl with a beautifully trimmed little hedge. It's more rare. Fully shaved... it never occurs to me. I charge. But that's just me. ;-) Dec 15 13 09:16 pm Link I would grow it to a certain extent. I like to keep it tidy and sometimes fully bare. I could never see myself with a huge bush though. Body hair is beautiful, but it has to be taken care of for it to be considered "art" worthy. That is my own opinion, however. Dec 15 13 09:33 pm Link God intended for women to have pubic hair. I for one don't get this "shaved kooter" thing. If you want to trim or even it up, that's fine, especially if your pubic hair is very long and thick. But what is this attraction to look like you did before you went into puberty? Shaved legs and pits are fine, but leave the kooter alone! Mar 06 14 04:44 pm Link You are supposed to focus on the eyes so it shouldn't matter if there is kooter hair or not.... Well, if those persons knew anything about art (art history) they would know that the 'smooth' look has been around for centuries...even thousands of years if you take into account Renaissance sculptures often copied ancient Greek and Roman art. Here is a link 18+ which shows many many of these images (paintings and sculpture) and I don't see much pubic hair.
