How to pose in a bathing suit
Im doing my very first bikini shoot next week and im not sure how to pose! What angles look most flattering when your half naked? May 31 11 09:23 pm Link May 31 11 09:32 pm Link Thanks! Yeah I'll look at their website I'm just really nervous and I want to do well May 31 11 09:37 pm Link Caprice Rutherford wrote: You can practice in front of the mirror if you want! It can help May 31 11 09:40 pm Link Yeah I'll be spending the next few nights infront of my mirror for sure May 31 11 09:47 pm Link Find the spots of your body that you feel are "problem areas," then work on poses that help minimize those areas. Same with the "good areas," work on poses that enhance them. Such as if you have a bit of a tummy work on poses that elongate your back in order to counter act that: Or if you have short arms and legs, do more wide poses that help make your limbs look longer. Keeping your legs further apart helps make them look slimmer and makes them look longer, same with arms: If you have small breasts and want them to appear larger or want to try and achieve cleavage without smooshing them to death, try leaning forward while "playing with your hair and face" in order to place your arms to press them together slightly: Looked like body paint, didn't know if it counted as 18+ or not Doing poses on your stomach will also hide your stomach and make your breasts look bigger: Be careful of turning on your side as this will cause your breasts to droop away from each other. See how her breast closer to the floor looks much flatter than the other one?: Arching your back while laying down and keeping your limbs extending will make you look slimmer and your limbs longer: Hope this helps May 31 11 11:32 pm Link create curves so arching, or pushing your hips to the side... have a look at swimwear commercials or sports illustrated... they have some great work on there. most important, feel compfortable as that will show in your face... some of my work can be found at www.mostphotography.com/lingerie-swimwear moritz www.mostphotography.blogspot.com Jun 01 11 05:57 am Link Practice the s-curve (think of the shape of the letter "S") It is all about the curves. Jun 01 11 06:05 am Link Jun 01 11 06:08 am Link Thanks this is all helping alot Jun 01 11 11:52 am Link Is it for catalog? Is it for fashion? is it for commercial? Is it for art? Is it for beauty? Is it for a theme? Is there a concept attached? What's the story? sounds like you need to research all of the above before agreeing to shoot... Jun 01 11 11:54 am Link Look at the Sports Illustrated issue on line...so awesome Jun 01 11 02:43 pm Link Little Alice wrote: actually i think the opposite is true - a pose like this can be great for creating cleavage. Jun 01 11 02:51 pm Link It's just to build my portfolio, it's going to be on a beach in kelowna so no theme. Jun 01 11 05:47 pm Link Jun 01 11 05:53 pm Link Try to stay away from the 'hunched over curled up stomach ache poses' or the 'spread eagle'. i wanna be ogled in mens magazine poses . It fine to do glamour when you are ready for that,(if thats what you want to do) but if its your first time. try to do more fashion swim suit poses. femminine and classy , the S curve in your body ( opposite hip and shoulder cocked a bit) keep your body angled to the photographer. Hips forward ,and long tall back and neck, and IF the photog is on the floor looking UP at you and REALLY close.....Its probably NOT a flattering Pose. PS, some really good examples from Kelleth. Jun 01 11 06:08 pm Link its defiantly accentuating the bust and the hips by arching or pushing out or what ever as long as the attention is on those two arias. + the face as well. Jun 01 11 06:13 pm Link Wear a bathing suit that is a little too large for you to avoid what is now called muffin tops. You don't want the edge of the material cutting into you or worse you don't want bulges in places there shouldn't be any. It's the model version of Dunlaps disease. "His stomach dun lapped over his belt." Jun 01 11 06:47 pm Link Depends whether you are modeling for women or mens type photos! It's about sex appeal. Jun 02 11 03:48 am Link I just wanted to say, I haven't had the opportunity to do a swim suit shoot yet, but what awesome advice!!!!!! Thank you for the forum and all the advice!
