I received this as well...I am emailing back and for with an "agent" and he actually did send me a check for 2,667 dollars...I am supposed to buy a plane ticket, send the rest to a "wardrobe personal" and head to fucking florida. First off..a high fassioned magazine does not search for newbie talent on MM and neither do their agents...secondly a legit modeling shoot would never send you that kind of cash UPFRONT without having you sign something, or having you DO ANYTHING at all. Well I know this now...so what do I do with this almost-3 thousand dollar-check? I think i'll rent out a suit in Vegas and have a party...drinks anyone?

This exposition is going to be held on the 28th of July in Tampa, Florida.The shoot will commence at 12:00 PM EST noon and end at 3:00 PM EST which would take you complete 3 hours.
PROJECT DETAILS:
This project is organized by the company and is basically on photo shoot to display latest fashions and designers for commercial purpose and be informed that it is an outdoor show and will be publicized.
JOB PAYMENT:
The company are going to pay you the sum of $300 as hourly shooting rate which means your shoot for the 3hours will be $900 and the payment will be paid to you immediately you are done with the shoot.
COMPENSATION FEE:

I know someone who fell for a similar scam (not modeling related). Long story short, they received a check for nearly $2,000 with instructions that they were to keep half and forward the other half to someone else. They deposited the check into their checking account and then wrote and mailed a personal check to the other party. 3 days later they were notified by their bank the check they had deposited had bounced (this is why many banks had a "funds availability policy" that says funds deposited by check may not be made available to you for up to XX days after deposit (depending on what bank the check was issued from).
As you can probably guess, the check they had written from their personal account and sent to the other party had already been cashed so they lost nearly $1,000 to the scam.

The check will bounce. The point here is to get you to cash it, then send money to the "wardrobe personal" and then it will bounce and you will be out whatever amount of money you sent them.
I had a similar email sent to me as well. I have not responded, and will not respond to it at all.

Some aren't aware of this, but banks can often pull back funds (stop payment) up to as much as two weeks, in the case of fraud.

whatever you do, dont cash the check. it will bounce, you will be stuck paying the bank back and the charges. thats how the scam works; you cash it and send them the money, and they vanish before it bounces.

Don't I repeat don't spend that money. The check is going to bounce it takes like 3 weeks for it to bounce because it seems legit but it isn't. I was involved with something like this and then send you the check have you wire it out so they get the money. It's awful.
