JUst got measured today at the doctors
So I just wanted to say that i am SOOOO happy because i got measured at the doctor's office today and am just barely 5'5. Hehe know i know to some that isnt tall but i did competitive figure skating for years so didnt reach 5 feet till after high school when i quit skating. Last time i was measured was a year and half ago so I was excastic to hear i am now barely 5'5. for me this is a huge accomplishment hehe. I just wanted to share my excitement with someone. So I figured this might be the best place. I know it sounds silly but from my persepctive i am thrilled with any stretched inch i have haha so i count every blessing. hope everyone is having a good day too!!! Oct 10 06 02:22 pm Link YAY!!!! I'm happy for you! I remember when I last got on a scale I nearly jumped out of my skin to see that I had dropped 8lbs! (about 5 months ago) Seeing those surprises are awesome so I feel yah! Congrats! -Jael- Oct 10 06 02:25 pm Link Congrats! I trained for competive figure skating and gymnastics when I was very young, and I stopped growing at 5'1" at age 11. This summer, I went to see a new allergist and when he measured me I was 5' 2 3/4"! I've been going to the chiropractor and from just straightening my back I gained almost 2 inches! So if I can do it at 32, there's still hope.. Sinn Oct 10 06 03:50 pm Link Why does competive figure skating and gymnastics make you shorter? Lost on that one..... I'm dancing a LOT this semester-4 hours a day 2 days a week-and I've gained 6 lbs muscle mass since August. Oct 10 06 04:22 pm Link Jael M wrote: All that bouncing and jumping shrinks you. It's in that body conditioning that I think it sort of stunts growth. If the woman doesn't stop at an early enough age, not just can height be affected but menstral periods, body hair, etc. Basically its called delayed puberty. On average, most women don't reach their full adult height until 14 - 15 years old. In my case, I stopped at 11.. Its not just common in girls, its also common in boys, (affects pubic hair, testicular growth and height.) Also I never had a period till after I quit skating so my body developed completely after i quit and wasnt working out so many days a week so long or hard. that is quite common actually in intense training for those sports. Oct 11 06 09:37 am Link I wish I was like six-foot-nine So I can get with Leoshi Cause she don't know me but yo she's really fine Oct 11 06 09:47 am Link Although I'm happy for your happiness, I'd like to point out - especially to those who haven't reached your heights - that's there's nothing inherently virtuous about being taller, rather than shorter. Or about long lengs, or over-blown lips, or eyes so wide they're on either side of your head (although eyes too close apparently indicate something or other, don't they?) Some aspects of the modeling industry would have you believe the most good is lies in spindliness... I'd say any physical proportions have their usefulness, as long as they're functional for what you want to do - like the stork and the fox, or the giraffe and the pig, or whoever those fabular protagonists were. But yes, if you want to model, a little height does have its function... ~Sabina Oct 11 06 09:49 am Link That song is infectious. Oct 11 06 09:49 am Link |
