I love film!
Although I shoot more digital now, I love shooting film too. The shutter feels so different when I squeeze off a shot than it does with digital cameras. Every picture in my "Classics Album" was shot with film back before I started using digital. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/663/115892 This is the most popular shot! Aug 29 12 06:14 pm Link I had to check my iPhone Pocket Light Meter app. It gave me an exposure of 4" at f/25 (red box in photo) and I had a yellow filter (Cokin #Z004) on the camera, so that brought it to 8" at f/25 (one stop increase). I gave it 1.3 more stop for reciprocity (just guesstimated since I didn't have the data sheet handy). I developed it in XTOL 1+1 for 11 min (30" longer than the MDC entry) at 68F because it wasn't really low on contrast but it was in the shade (taken about 7:11 pm). All I've done to date is a red filter with my 4x5, and that's only been 2 or 3 pieces. Does the yellow act "similar" to the red, or is it a completely different look? AND, why did you use a yellow filter more importantly. ----------- An RB67 shot. This was shot with Portra the best I can remember, and converted to b/w via LR3 before I discovered shooting b/w film. - Aug 30 12 04:50 am Link Film favorites you say? Yashica 124. But in this instance I wanted to lighten up the green-yellow lichen on the rocks (see the color image from Pocket Light Meter) to produce a more stark difference between those rocks and the lichen-free rocks, and to blacken the not-so-moving water (which has an amazing blue color to it).
