Ms Cupcake Couture wrote: You are a great model. Your photos are very different and unique, which is something I like. The editing styles are a bit scattered, so I wouldn't do too many different ones. I know a lot of photographers like to be diverse (I always want to try different things), but then it makes your portfolio look like one giant mess. Not saying that yours is, but that it can have that effect. I would work on a lot of your facial expressions, but other than that, I think you're heading the right path. You have great photos, but something I'm not fond of and happen to think makes your work look a bit amateurish is vignette on some of the images. Other than that, I love your work. Props. Aug 21 12 08:46 pm Link I'm down for some hardcore critiquing! Aug 21 12 08:47 pm Link Randy Potvin wrote: Your portfolio is getting there. You need to experiment with 1) your facial expressions, and 2) your body language. This will let you have an even better portfolio. I wouldn't want you to get stuck on the same look and then not have much varied work. Plus I'd get rid of the first 3 images on the top row. I love how you have so many different locations, it adds to your portfolio. Just watch out that it doesn't take away from your art but rather aid in telling a story. Like in this one, I feel the environment takes away from the beautiful subject: Aug 21 12 08:53 pm Link Rachel Hayslette wrote: One thing that I told someone else is that having just one look sometimes makes you very forgettable. You need to practice on your facial expressions and body language. They're very cookie-cutter for me. Put some images where you're not looking at the camera. Some that you're smiling. Some that you're serious. I feel that most of the best models have some pretty awkward facial/body expressions, but they make them look so beautiful. Try posing in front of a mirror. You'll warm up to the shoot. Aug 21 12 08:55 pm Link Urban Exp photography wrote: The editing is a bit rough, but that's something that's just going to take time and practice. There are great tutorials out there, and even actions on photoshop that you can buy that can make editing a world's difference. You have beautiful models, and also a good eye, at least from these few images that I saw. Keep working on that, as well as working with more models so you can showcase more of your work. Your black and whites are beautiful, and so keen on detail, but I wish they told a bit more of a story. Your colors, are honestly to die for. They contain so much beauty that I'm pretty sure I just overdosed on them. That's the kind of storytelling that's worth a million bucks. Aug 23 12 08:17 pm Link please do!! Your work is beautiful, and you have such a natural talent at just being beautiful in front of a camera. I love how your work is so diverse, I would work with you in an instant. I would watch out what type of work you show, just because you have some great shots, and then some that let you down as a model. Also, I would see if I could maybe use individual shots instead of the collages. I feel it takes away from an image. Aug 23 12 08:26 pm Link |
