In addition to a place for locals to network, shoot the shit, and possibly do events/meet-ups.

I would love to start a list of studios and locations that are available for rental (or trade), so if anyone has those recommendations, please feel free to post and I will start/maintain a list here.

I'm pretty sure she means Vancouver Washington, to go with Portland, Oregon.

@Bruce, yeah, I think Salem (OR) counts/fits in just fine.

The original one, not the imitation Canadian one smile

Headquarters of Hudson's Bay Company (established 1825)
Oldest permanent non-native settlement in Pacific Northwest (1825)

In 1806, American explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark camped near the Vancouver waterfront on the return leg of their famed western expedition. Lewis characterized the area as “the only desired situation for settlement west of the Rocky Mountains.”

n 1825, Dr. John McLoughlin decided to move the northwest headquarters of the Hudson’s Bay Company from Astoria to a more favorable setting upriver. He named the site after Point Vancouver on Broughton’s original map. Fort Vancouver was thus born.

For many years, Fort Vancouver was the center of all fur trading in the Pacific Northwest. It was also a center of British dominion over the Oregon Territory. In 1846, American control was extended north to the 49th parallel. The northwest became part of the United States.

ya, I really don't know why we haven't had a get-together.  Sometimes there are workshops around.

I suppose I could host one, but considering how bad I wanted to punch a photographer at a recent open (DRAWING) event maybe people need to leave their gear at home.

I tend to host one, hopefully annually.  Do I have your e-mail address?

Not that I am aware of, but we probably should work on some artists gatherings or even some sort of informal meet-ups.

IIRC, didn't I hear that your butt is going to be on display soon, or something like that?

Last week, there was a traveling llama staying in my guest room.  Three other photographers came over (separately) and photographed her here at my house.  We do stuff like that.

Those of us who dabble in nude art subscribe to the Google group, pdx-nude-art.  If you don't like that, contact me, and I'll put your e-mail address on my e-mail distribution list.  We announce stuff like sharing llamas

Vancouver based photographer checking in.  The early post about studio space for short term rent is a good idea. I'm working on this now and can post what I find in a few days.  I shoot mostly location stuff, but the winter is long, dark and wet here.  Sometimes I need to shoot inside.
