I will tell you what I like in your port and think should stay, what I hate in your port and think you should scrap, and what I think is missing. Plus I'm a fiend on tumblr and love sharing inspiration. All you have to do is tell me the same. And..... go! Please note: I tend to take a while to get to everyone, but only because I really give their ports a long think and look for images just for them.

LizaK wrote: Go ahead! Keep this one: It's quintessentially the perfect portfolio image. It shows off your gorgeous skin and great big blue eyes. Get rid of this one: You're too cramped up in this pose and it looks unnatural and uncomfortable. You hair coming low over your face just serves to hide you and make it more difficult for you to make a connection with your viewer. Try not to close yourself off from the camera. Use the pose to accentuate your back and neck, but don't close down. This pose done correctly should look more like this: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mb1lv … o1_500.jpg What you need more of: You have lovely eyes and can pull off the innocent girl look with ease, but I want to see some smoldering sexy looks from you. Take this: and start exploring your darker side. If you're okay with implied nudity, shed some clothing, play with that hair and tempt us a little. Mea, you are gorgeous! You have depth and variance in your looks and moods! You adapt. I like how you have 4 categories and think the images are really 1.graceful, 2.dark, 3.sexy, and 4powerful. your port is LARGE. But Is it robust? My humble opinion is to narrow down the images to give one full page to each category. 20 images are perfect, everything can be seen at once, then further draws you in by YOUR image. I would suggest portrait style framing. We see you well in them I would keep them highest priority over the lanscape style framing. I would still keep the highest artistic or visually appealing landscape framings just lower on the page. You have a lot of artist merit and are excellent at it but it isn't in your face right away, it's not drawing in because it's much smaller format. And frankly, we wanna see you! I tend to like the portrait framing over the landscape framing (((for llamas ports))) it fills the page and shows your beauty so much more, and all at once. It gets our attention!!!...hope that makes sense. Ps. Composites don't add to this format either. Too small to stir interest. Put out : https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30029115 and https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/28650771 And https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/28437131 They don't do your beauty justice. I love this and think u should keep it in there forever : https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/1 … #/26870639 definitely ! Just clip out composites and rearrange a little. You have layers and layers, keep doing what your doing! keep evolving, More alt /fashion images or high fashion/beauty for that matter. More figure art More environmental nudes

Jonas JG wrote: Cool idea! Yes, please What should stay: Great profile, good choice for your avatar, and what can I say? It has "Game of Thrones" all over it and that shit is hot. What should go: This is a terrible terrible demure nude. It would be just as awful on a female, but it certainly doesn't work with a male model. Bad angle on your body and face, makes you look 5ft tall and larger than you are, is awkward and is not artistic at all. Throw it away, never resurrect it and don't let anyone do this to you again. If you want to pull off male nudes, you need to study artistic male nudes, get a feel for the mood and shapes that you need to bring to the table, and learn how to pose for them: http://www.davidvanceprints.com/#a=0&at … 00&s=5&p=1 I know you're not into body building, but the right poses will best show off your body, believe me. What I want to see more of: More edgy, moody images with oodles of male sensuality. You have long dark hair and dark eyes and I'm sure you could ave the audience in the palm of your hand if you turned up the heat. You have something edging closer to that here: Now give me more of this: http://seanpwatters.files.wordpress.com … isin31.jpg Get vulnerable, get sensual, get wet, get your hair all over your face. Pretty please.

AWHill Photography wrote: I'm game to play. It was hard for me to choose an image I liked because I feel like you're not lighting your shoots properly yet. I'm really struggling to see your subjects well, the shadows are obscuring their features, and the features of the clothing, and they make the girls look sick and very tired. To be honest with you, if you asked me to work with you, I would say no, because of your lighting. This shot I liked: But I really really wish you had gotten the focus right. This shot you should get rid of: Not that there's anything wrong with it, but this is Model Mayhem, not Band Mayhem. You're here to find models. And models don't care about shots of bands performing live. It doesn't tell us anything about your ability to work with us. Use this slot for another image with a model. What I wanna see more of: Despite the lighting issues, I actually liked the idea of these shots: But I'd like to see you master the lighting and the environment, and I'd love it if you took your models outside. Kind of like a dreamy secret garden type of editorial: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbrgy … o1_500.jpg and http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_madob … o1_500.jpg and http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbhhl … o1_500.jpg for inspiration.

Hedy Suder wrote: Hello, yes please...just what I need. First of all, thank you so much for a thorough and well written critique. It is very much appreciated. I like this: I just like the grain, the double exposure, the mood, the hue. I think you should scrap this: Three reasons. 1. It doesn't show models what you can do with them. 2. I loathe it when people desaturate an image with bright red in it, making the red look sickly grey-pink. If there is red it should always be RED. 3. It's just a bad shot, badly lit, unfocussed, weird burning and blurring in post going on... What I'd love to see more of from you: Two things. Firstly, you need more strong portraits where the model is looking directly at the camera. Secondly, this gave me shivers: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 0#30180990 18+ I love how it is very feminine and ethereal, and it reminded me of images of harems. I'd like to see you take that vein and work on it, take it outside, play with the light, the veils and robes, and work on movement with your model. Here is some inspiration: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mb5f7 … o1_500.jpg and http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mb2on … o1_500.jpg and http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mam9z … o1_500.jpg

Mea Culpa wrote: Thank you so much for the critique, lovely! My favourite: Because it shows your beautiful face, shows off how fair you are, and really exposes your vulnerability. I wish you still had that longer wispy blonde hair! My least favourite: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 0#29994520 18+ This is just really stark and harshly lit, and it isn't flattering for your features. It's taken from an angle that cuts off your arms but amplifies your chest area, and makes you look disproportionate. plus she's done a weird thing to your eyes that is kinda freaky. What do you need? I think you know what kind of art you'd like to do, and what kind of stuff inspires you. From our talks I think you are really attracted to the idea of human vulnerability, and the cool thing is that I think you pull off vulnerability perfectly. You just have to let yourself be exposed and you have to find the right people to collaborate with to express it. These I really really liked a lot: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 4#27255774 18+ I think you should find someone to shoot some Bill Henson-type portraits with, and some stuff like this: http://www.oliviervalsecchi.com/ which I think you will rock. More stuff I wanna see you try: the stuff you post on tumblr! http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbri6 … o1_500.jpg and http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mc0rk … o1_500.jpg and http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mc0rg … o1_500.jpg Thank you so much for your feed back it's very helpfull

Thanks Mea - I do appreciate your comments and the time you take - And especially your finding the reference shots. You are right about being too close - both physically and mentally - cramped - back against the wall!! Also all too easy to be overly attached to the photographs that were a struggle to achieve. It is great to have the benefit of an honest opinion and talented eye. Especially from a model's perspective. Please come back and crit anytime

Vanessa Lang wrote: Hi there. Can you please critique my profile. The best image in your port: It was a good choice for your avatar. Okay, now the bad: You have WAY WAY WAY too many images in your portfolio. I am seriously forcing myself just to get through the pages and pages of images, and I just want to run away. You only need ONE (1) image from each set (and preferably from each shoot) in your portfolio. JUST ONE. And it should be the best representation of yourself and your abilities. You have dozens from each set and none of them are showing you very well. Photographers are going to stop looking at your portfolio and just skip over you. Go back to your portfolio and delete ALL BUT ONE image from each set. Less is more, believe me, less is more. What to get rid of completely: Behind the scenes type stuff like these: and And please get rid of the entire "Random Selfies" folder and all the events snapshots. Keep them for instagram and facebook, but no one here will take you seriously if you post those in your port. Okay, so what should you be doing? You have fantastic height, and could do some great work, but you need to work with better photographers who are going to show that height off and make you look a-f*cking-mazing. So I want you to start looking at plus size high fashion images and get a feel for what a good photograph looks like, and then start looking for new emerging photographers who are capable of working to that level, develop a working relationship with them, and learn how to pose. And you need to get some very basic portrait images that show your face off well. Here are some shots to highlight what you should be looking for: Super simple portraits: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6z8a … o1_500.jpg and http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lzwxn … o1_500.jpg and http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7omj … o1_500.jpg Poses and expressions: http://static02.mediaite.com/styleite/u … 36x624.jpg and http://i53.tinypic.com/pt7bb.jpg and http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f07DDIDwdVI/T … /jeans.jpg

Love: Everything about this composite, from the make up and hair to the lighting and post, is great, and looks so professional. Keep it and don't ever take it down. It shows your face so well that I would strongly suggest getting more portrait shots with your hair up (and preferably no or very little make up): you have beautiful features. Hate: This doesn't look like... anything really. It isn't fashion, it doesn't look professional and it isn't flattering. It's just bleh... like... why does it exist? I know why, because a GWC said "Hey let's try this stupid idea that is vaguely similar to something I once saw done badly by someone else, and I'll take a picture of it." It doesn't belong in a model portfolio. Wild card: Okay, I'm not a fan of bikini shots, but this one grabbed me immediately because DAMN GURL, you look hot in a bikini! It's a pity you don't do nudes, but no reason why you can't do some very very saucy swimsuit and implied nude work that will have everyone drooling. My suggestion, find a photographer who does breezy beachy boho fashion really really well, and do some stuff like this: http://media-cache-ec3.pinterest.com/up … pFAz_b.jpg and http://media-cache-ec5.pinterest.com/up … ECrU_b.jpg and http://media-cache-lt0.pinterest.com/up … iTnl_b.jpg

I have a thing against polka dots, but this makes you look like you're a size 12 instead of a size 6... No self portraits for you! Seriously, the only selfie you should ever have in your portfolio is a simple portrait of your face with no make up to show what you look like. No weird "I drank too much absinthe" glasses. "O help, I'm being strangled by a candy cane!" I really really hope you got other, better images from this shoot, because it looks like a lot of effort went into your hair and make up. Now lets get down to business. F*CK YEAH: I think we both know where this is going. Girl, you were born for latex! This set is freakin' awesome, and you look amazing. Other images in your port just support this: Okay, here's the deal. You have a fantastic figure and face, you're petite and cute as a button and can play innocent or just plain sexy as hell. If you're going to rock alternative modelling you need to really really rock that shit. You need to get a series of poses that show you off and wow the crowd, and you need to work on your expressions. The competition in alt modeling is fierce, so you're going to have to bring it. Hahah "No weird "I drank too much absinthe" glasses." Point very much taken, I'll just blame that shot on the absinthe And ahh Mosh, that's some inspirational homework right there! & I'll look into the other styles as well, cheers for that! As for your port it's really difficult to find fault with! So I'll start with the ones that are great: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 2#27330082 - Lovely serene and peaceful mood, and your expression and pose completes the image https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 4#29458854 - This is fantastic, superb pose, its as if you're following in the wind with the grass, really complimentary. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 2#28445052 - This is just fierce! Least favourite would probably have to be: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/p … 3#30286063 - I can't quite pinpoint what it is about it, but just does not do you as much justice as the rest of the series or your port.

I love how its different from a lot of the others.
