The amount of negativity, hate and just plain stupid comments i see in the forums has made me hate Model Mayhem. Reading some things people say on here just make me hate humanity. The other day i read a comment "she deserved to get sexually harassed because of the way she dressed" WHAT??? So its ok to sexually harrass a woman if she dresses like a "slut"? These sorts of comments make me want to delete my account and i am going to soon but i just paid for another month so will wait till the month is up. Ive even seen comments like "she wouldnt take her clothes off so i sent her home" this is why models insist on llama herders I've personally had bad experiences. Then you see photographers say in forums "if they need an llama herder they arnt real models" Well guess what Mr photographer YOUR not a real photographer if you shoot one on one in your tiny little shitty house. F*** this place makes me so angry!

There is a lot of absolute crap to weed through in the forums, and they can be easy to hate. They also seem to turn otherwise nice people evil sometimes. But they can also be hilarious and a fun way to pass time. But try not let the trolls and idiots get to you so bad, there are some great people around. Plus every so often there are new threads with actual information and good advice on a real topic....you need to be patient but it happens

Absolutely, earlier this year when I was shooting a series of bodypaint shot I was sent 3 models that were completely unaware that they would have to be nude for the paint application. The first was unfazed and wanted to proceed, the other two were given the option to withdraw with no ill feelings.

A few days ago there was a thread where a photographer complained about booking a nude model who decided she didn't want too do nudes once she arrived. If you are being paid to do nudes and won't you need to leave. I didn't see the thread about how a woman dresses but I did take note of the OP profile. Her feelings here kinda make sense. She requires escorts. She made a curious comment about about photographers homes. The forums aren't used by all that many members and many of the working models and shooters avoid them.

You can still meet lots of neato folks elsewhere on MM. 2) Realize that there are just going to be some people here with opinions you find abhorrent. You're bound to meet such people in just about any social setting you use. Just don't think everyone's like that. And when you let the meanies drive you off, you give the meanies that power over you. Don't give them that power. 3) Quit Model Mayhem and take comfort in the fact that the rest of the Internet is totally civil, polite and reliable. It's one big group hug outside these walls. 4) If you're easily angered by shitty people with offensive opinions, you might avoid the internet altogether.

The snarky-sarcastic nature of most comments in these forums is as annoying as it is unproductive or entertaining. At 20 you can be excused for such behavior but at 30+, it's dope slap time. Then there is the almost infantile, childlike pentulence as the minutia of any given subject is addresed-most often in an attempt to sound authoratative on a given matter as well as some sort of self-grandised self-entitlement trip (like the one I am conducting now). In the Words of Tony Roma [Glenn Gary/Glenn Ross]: "If you'd ever spent a day in the life, you'd know: ya don't open ya mouth until you know what the shot is!"

Same as if she DIDN'T agree to them and the photographer insisted, it's reasonable to cancel. I guess I'm safe, I shoot "one on one" quite often, but I house is pretty big, and fairly nice.

I fully agree, that the MM forums are an incredibly negative place to be. Seems to be a lot of people on both sides of the camera who are off in Fairyland- whether that's the model hating photographers who think a bad experience with one inexperienced drama filled female is representative of all MM models, to the models who think it's normal to expect $100 an hour plus MUA and wardrobe for a hobby folio-building shoot. The ones who make me laugh the most is the photographers who complain about how much their equipment costs, like they had a gun to their head to buy a Canon 5dIII instead of an equally capable (for non-pros) T3I. Oh and the guys who offer advise based on "the industry" as if Vogue are scouring the MM profiles for prospective talent! Seems the forums attract the worst, and extract the worst from those worse! Stay away from the forums, they are a never ending trainwreck!
