Thank you! I heard about photovogue through model mayhem....about more then a year ago... It has changed my life....They have given me some great exposure and I am running with it. And I will try to support them however I can.

I dont expect or want to be a fashion photographer but to continue my comissioned works and personal work..... If I get some editorial work that would be great....

No need for a veiled apology just because some people are absolutely clueless. Congratulations on your success and best wishes for much, much more.

I have been submitting three photos a day for quite a while, rejection from Vogue Italia has been the norm for me so far...Until now...They published one of my photos and it's not even a person.  I'm kind of stoked.

How cool is that?  http://www.vogue.it/en/photovogue/Portf … 9c57/Image

Thank you *ma'am*, I took that on the maiden voyage with my new Fuji x100, that was about the 10th shot taken with it. That camera is amazing, you'll see a phone booth and two people at the end of the "tunnel" when looking at the original photo (high res).  The detail this camera picks up at a distance is astonishing, though not really shown in this online example.

It's pretty cool for someone like me to get anything published anywhere other than their own FB or Tumblr :-)

Ha ha and fixed as they say.  Pardon my error, ma'am :-)

I'm very new to landscape and architecture photography.  I knew I was on to something when I saw this but I'm much more comfortable with people and I know when I have taken a great shot of a person, but when it comes to architecture, landscape or even still life I often scratch my head wondering if the shot is any good.  I've been doing much more of it lately just to get a better feel for it.

Some people have a gift with architecture.....It is not easy.... I know some people who are really good at it.... They are very patient people....

I think maybe you should explore it more......

Nice pictures! If you make picture of the day you can make the magazine once in a while they feature three photographers under new talent...... But they dont tell you. You have to get the magazine and check it or you have to be lucky and someone will tell you.

That's what I'd figure would happen. the files we upload to the site are so small it would be hard to make a great looking full page.

I am forever amused by those around here [MM] who poo-pah, and often actively discourage, the marking of images by the actual copyright owner / photographer. Then what you are fighting are the various on-line publishers like this that brand the very same images in their own name sometimes, going beyond even a brand name, even marking them with a clearly false copyright notice.

1) It smacks of false attribution, a clear violation of moral rights where they are available [ALL of Europe];

and

2) Even in respect of the US it is a dodgy proposition, doing what they are doing, because it clearly amounts to false statement of origin in breach of the Lanham Act and violates, on the face of it, various other laws including the US Copyright Act [@ 17 USC 512]

You make a good point. In fact, one of the requirements is that any image submitted bears no copyright mark from the photographer.  Accordingly, I have always sent them very low res, small images sans watermark.

You don't get Publishe in the magazine but when an editor or Vogue looks at your work and is approved! It's a reinsurance that you are becoming a better photographer! I started 3 months ago and yesterday my picture was approved and place in my Portfolio! And it's not easy! So anybody that bad mouth the website! Maybe your just angry that you haven't had a pic approved! Then bitching about it, pick up your camera take more pic and study the works of proffecionals!

It's a website where you upload your photos and Vogue stamps them with a logo. I have been noticing more images stamped with the Vogue logo on models' and photographers' MM portfolios lately. This is quite silly since I could photocopy one of my hermit crabs, upload the image to this hosting site, and have it stamped with the Vogue logo. I feel bad for the models who put these up on their ports-- they obviously believe the photog got their photo published in Vogue! I feel so embarrassed for them and feel bad that they were misled by unscrupulous photographers.

So I made this thread to be a white knight. NOW YOU KNOW.

Also, feel free to upload amusing photos and then post them here with the Vogue logo on them. I think this has opportunities for LOLs.

Hmmm.. sounds like you don't know what you're talking about. It's not Vogue Italia you have a problem with it's the models who say they are being published when they aren't.
Do YOU have any images on VI?
Thinking logically, you really are pointing the finger at the wrong people.

being that I have had one chosen but submitted alot it is still a very nice thing to be able to have one viewed on Vogue Italia. Please dont feel sorry for me I feel my port here on MM speaks for itself and I know it isn't in the magazine but feel Vogue Italia has some amazing work on its sight.  BTW they dont just stamp photos with their logo they are chosen for use on the sight
