'Retouching' skin by cranking the blur/median filter.

Oh yeah, and octopi on naked people. They are very intelligent, somewhat cute, and should be left to frolic in the sea (i.e. octopi, but in many cases, naked people too.)

Too much post processing. I saw a portfolio the other day that could have been awesome, but it looked terrible. The eyes, in every photo, had been whitened/brightened so much that it looked crazy over the top fake. It looked cartoonish and unnatural. Gotta know when to stop in post processing.

Yea. This. I second the gun safety! Don't play around with that sort of thing.

Hand bras. It makes me want to get a shelf they can just sit them on and call it a day. No need to hold that stuff like that. Have some respect for those mammary glands, ladies.

Myspace angles/above the head. So over that.

Chorister hands. Oh my goodness gracious. That's done. Stop it. No thank you.

Soft focus lens/glamour glow. That shit makes a model look like a fluffy kitten.

Using the American flag as a sheet/wrap/between-the-legs coverup of the cooch/etc.

It's not only overdone and unoriginal, it's disrespectful.

Model giving the finger

Model on the toilet

Any shot taken in the home with a visible mess in the background  (really any shot where the background & composition were clearly not considered)

Does anybody have an issue that when they see a photo, it instantly ruins it, completely and totally makes the shot not work?

For me, it's unsafe gun handling.  Fingers on triggers in circumstances that don't dictate it, poor gun form, muzzles being pointed in any direction that is not RIGHT, etc, etc...  It drives me up the wall and there was one model that I damn near slapped after the third time she pointed a (prop) gun at her head in a silly casual manner with the finger on the trigger.

That will do it for me.

Why?

Especially from the llama's point of view.

Ok, llama?

Finally getting it, but where the hell did it start and why?

I wont say it drives me up the wall, but I cringe a bit when I see a US flag "abused".

Before anyone jumps on me, I am a Vet who believes I took an oath to preserve your right to do pretty much as you please with the flag....but that doesnt mean I dont cringe a bit sometimes.

I suspect you took an oath to defend your country, not necessarily the politicians of your country.

Like some cops who tend to forget whom the "To serve and protect" is supposed to be referring to.

The people who truly want to do something for the country tend to be ignored and disrespected.

Sorry for the mini rant.

+1000000
hate that pose..I don't know why they do it, but it drives me up the wall.
it looks beyond stupid..and just fuck.

if I ever shoot a model and she pulls that out, I'll throw her out of the studio.

I don't get all the hate on guns. I guess if the concept is just "here is a sexy girl, let's give her a gun and let her pose with it" yeah, I guess so, but certain concepts would call for it, if you were doing things like swat/police/military/film noir/etc. kind of theme pictures you'd probably want to work them in at some point.

Harsh nose shadows.

Zombies  - over it!

Hot spot on the tip of the nose.

Everyone covered the cliche shots but the truth is everything is cliche to someone else.

Barbie doll skin.

Cell phone photos.

The stitched mouth make-up look.

Bad nudes are a turn off.

Shooting everything on white, gets old, been there done that.

The wrong white balance - creating a yellow sky with teeth to match.

Lastly - shooting on black without a rim light or hair light and making it flat.

Many more but it's too early and I need coffee!

Caution tape
Gas masks
Model sitting on toilet
Model flipping the bird

Hope I never see model wearing a gas mask, while sitting on a toilet, flipping the bird and wrapped in caution tape. Just might push me over the edge smile

Hello Jonathan. Improper cropping (toes, hands, knees, etc..) kills me. Then there are photos where the focus lands on the tip of the nose and not the eyes.
