I went to the bathroom today. Having a baby is only slightly more impressive of an "accomplishment". I don't know why people care about celebrities... it boggles my mind.

This thread just made me go turn on some Kanye.

Thanks MM. It had been a while since I've listened to him spin his brilliance.

The father is rich.

The mother is rich.

The child will be far better off than all of you talking shit on the internet.  Congrats to both of them.

I mean, really...The difference between a shit and giving birth is about 6 pounds and a metric ton of bullshit prior to birth and after birth.

The average human bowel movement weighs 1/2-1 pound. The average human newborn weighs 7 1/2 pounds and comes out all at once. When you take a shit that big, maybe we can talk but until then there is a vast difference between going to the bathroom and having a baby.

I've read that a closer analogy for a man is the pain of passing a kidney stone.  The urethra is not designed to stretch!

Are we sure there is a difference between a Kardashian being born and a bowel movement?

I didn't say "easy", or painless, or any number of other things that have your oh-my-god-someone-thinks-giving-birth-is-easy defensiveness all a-twitter.

I said "not noteworthy," and "not an accomplishment", and compared it to another biological function that is routinely carried out without fanfare (unless you're being potty-trained). You hopped on the mommy high-horse too quickly, and dropped your reading comprehension on the way.

Doing something that is done literally thousands of times every day around the globe, and has been happening this way for almost 200,000 years (modern humans)- it is not "impressive" or an "accomplishment".

I must have missed the part where that has anything to do with him as a father. You're pressed, honey. Deal with that.

First of all, I've never given birth but I've witnessed plenty of live births as I'm preparing to have my own. Even before I was pregnant I at least recognized giving birth as being the most physically traumatic experience any person can go through that is a natural process of life. Just because it happens regularly doesn't make it less of an accomplishment. Many women can choose to not have children or to end their pregnancies and many do make that choice. Many women are also opting to have c-sections and many women still die from giving birth.

I think it's rather short sighted for you to tell women that having a child isn't an accomplishment and compare it to having a shit when you can't have a child.
