What makes this situation particularly worrisome is that as an ex-cop he is well aware of police procedures and knows exactly what to expect which, I think, makes him extremely dangerous compared to your average nut-case. Even if he does nothing now but lay low, he's costing them a fortune in resources and everyone on the force is panicked.

I think the very best we can hope for is that he just went "tilt" on the spur of the moment and did not really plan things out. If he put a lot of thought into weapons caches, hiding places, etc this thing could get horrific fast. Based on the report that he tried to steal a boat, I'm thinking he just went "tilt," at least, I sure hope this is the case as it will make it much easier (albeit still difficult) to stop him.

I agree with the post suggesting it would make for a good movie.

One of the things that struck me is that in all of the photos I've seen, he appears to be an easy-going happy sort of guy.

I fear that anyone who takes the time to write a manifesto-length paper has been working on it for a while. The Unabomber had a long run.

I was told by my mother that sometimes bad things happen to good people. I refuse to accept that. From 2/05 to 1/09 I saw some of the most vile things humans can inflict on others as a police officer in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, it wasn’t in the streets of LA. It was in the confounds of LAPD police stations and shops (cruisers). The enemy combatants in LA are not the citizens and suspects, it’s the police officers. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. How ironic that you utilize a fixed glass structure as your command HQ. You use as a luminous building to symbolize that you are transparent, have nothing to hide, or suppress when in essence, concealing, omitting, and obscuring is your forte. Chief Beck, this is when you need to have that come to Jesus talk with Sgt. XXXX and everyone else who was involved in the conspiracy to have me terminated for doing the right thing. you also need to speak with her attorney, Rico, and his conversation with the BOR members and her confession of guilt in kicking Mr. XXXX. I’ll be waiting for a PUBLIC response at a press conference. When the truth comes out, the killing stops. Why didn’t you charge me with filing a false police report when I came forward stating that XXXX kicked Mr. XXXX? You file criminal charges against every other officer who is accused and terminated for filing a false police report. You didn’t because you knew I was innocent and a criminal court would find me innocent and expose your department for suppressing the truth and retaliation, that’s why. The attacks will stop when the department states the truth about my innocence, PUBLICLY!!! I will not accept any type of currency/goods in exchange for the attacks to stop, nor do i want it. I want my name back, period. There is no negotiation. I am not the state department who states they do not negotiate with terrorist, because anybody with a Secret or TS/SCI has seen IIR’s on SIPR and knows that the US state department always negotiates by using CF countries or independent sovereign/neutral country to mediate and compromising. Hmmm, powerful stuff here.

My fear is that this will make Angelinos lives more difficult now because the police are going to be on edge.

Indeed, what if. Certainly, it does NOT give ANY man a free license to go on a rampage and murder ANYONE. I simply cannot fathom how anyone could support vicious criminal murder, a self appointed vigilante roaming around the streets.(Compass Rose, not saying you do) Two wrongs certainly dont make a right...... If LAPD is still guilty of the institutional criminal behavior he claims they are guilty of, there are MANY ways to ultimately bring those crimes to light. I am sure they dont happen fast enough, and I wish they didnt need to happen at all, but corruption is part(sadly) of being human....power nearly always tempts those with it......it takes EXCEPTIONAL folks to have a lot of power, and yet not abuse it. I think we are lucky to have the good cops we do. I wish there was some way to root out the bad ones more quickly. I hope they take this madman off the streets asap.
