J. Steven Hicks - RIP
It's with a sad heart, that I wish to announce the passing of a longtime friend, associate and great glamour photographer J. Steven Hicks. I first met Steven back in the late 70's when he was our assistant at Playboy where he showed great drive and determination to become a top published photographer. His career went on from there to include shooting for Penthouse, Hustler, Club and Gallery magazines. He was one of the early pioneer of glamour photography on the internet with his outstandingly successful website DigitalDesire.com A dedicated family man, an avid surfer, an extremely talented photographer, and an all around nice guy, Steven will surely be missed. -Ken Marcus- Feb 07 13 07:15 pm Link I just became aware of this a few minutes ago. Feb 07 13 07:26 pm Link Of all the "centerfold photogs" from the Golden Age of Men's Magazines, Stephen was the youngest, fittest, handsomest, and just as charming and talented if not more so as anyone in the business. Life just isn't fair. You could always tell a "Hicks Shot", long fast lens, great color, composition, and sensuality. His models always looked beautiful and at ease. His work lives on for eternity. In his pics, the model always looked like she was having a great time. And unlike some guys, he would take time to reply to an email, from a little guy. He'll be missed. Many years ago, the lab that I worked in for a while did some work for Penthouse from some of his chromes.
