Haven't uploaded anything new in awhile, but would love to know what should stay and what should go!

Black Tux Photography wrote: Harsh critique please Well. Honstly, I can't really give you a proper critique, because there is really not that much on me to critique on or say "get better at this" and mean it. It's all very mediocre right now unfortunately. I'm not sure why you list yourself as experienced, even though you state you're in college, because anyone looking at your work can see you aren't experienced. Perhaps focus on studio portraits and beauty, as that is your strong point. The high key beauty shots you have on the last row seem to be your best, so I would say try to work around lots of different ideas on beauty for now. Build your skills, but slowly diversify your portfolio. Otherwise you'll only end up with a portfolio full of crap.

You have a great youthful look for your age and great stats to get into older commercial work. 2. Be more carefull of what you put in your portfolio, your worst shot stands for your whole portfolio in allot of peoples eyes, and allot of your portfolio you do not need. Work on having a few really strong images to draw the better photographers and teams, than having a heap of tat. Lastly, I'd like to see some more good beauty/portrait images. As a photographer I want to see your face, and I don't feel like I'm getting enough great accurate and natural face on image. Goodluck

Hey, would love to hear the bad! I can see the good stuff, I can see some mistakes but since I'm new to photography and have only done two shoots as the photographer would love a few more opinions.

Not really sure what sort of direction you're going in, or if you are just experimenting a bit. I would just say, keep going, keep experimenting with different styles and genres and keep getting better

Hell yes, I love honest and informative critique. Why be a narcissist and have you make me feel good about myself unless it is honestly true. So, thank you for your time and I'd like a honest crit, I can take anything. I'm comfortable with myself.

I really like your look, You have a very strong look, and have great proportions. But because you do have quite a heavy set face, and smaller eyes, it seems a bit harder for you to look soft, or have a a great diversity of facial expression. So, I'd say work on that. But aside from that, you look like you're heading in a great direction, just keep working with much better photographers, and maybe if it weren't for you being a tad bit short, you could try a go at any decent agencies that represent plus size models.

_BlossomFairy_ wrote: I'll go for whatever critique as long as it can helps me improve since I am new. Thanks, -Amy You're definitely cute and have a youthfull appearance. I'm not entirely sure what you'll be doing with modelling though. Other than working on better beauty and portrait. Honestly, I'm not sure what your agency can get for you, unless you're heading more into acting and commercial. Your proportions will hinder you greatly, especially since you don't shoot lingerie/bikini or artnude, or any alternative styles that shorter models excel in. I'm not saying your portfolio is crap, it isn't. and if you're just wanting to do this as a hobby, then fine. But if you're looking for paid work in the future,I suggest you re-evaluate your availability and genres of modelling.

You're 24, you're only getting older but you are lucky to have a great look and stats, so get on with amazing projects and serious work! Clean up your portfolio, there are 20 shots that don't need to be there, and 20 shots that make me think twice about your taste and choice of portfolio shoots. Only keep the few and best. remember the worst shot on show is just as important as your best.
