When I get a requests from a new model, I usually get the question, "do you shoot larger girls?"

If I don't see any full-figured models in a photographer's portfolio I always ask if they have examples in their repertoire. I have shot with photographers with no experience photographing full-figured models, and I was unhappy with the results every time. Women with slim figures are arguably easier to shoot because their bodies do much of the work for them. Shooting my body requires more knowledge of lighting and angles in order to achieve something I find appealing. I don't ask because I'm afraid of being rejected as a model; I want to know up front whether a photographer has the skills to  present me in the ways that are most flattering to me.

A few plus sized or curvier models have contacted me in the past, one or two with somewhat timid messages asking if I wanted to shoot...

Curvy, skinny, large or small, any color, short, or tall...

If a person appeals to me in some way, then I might be inclined to work with them. It doesn't always have to be about their body or other physical attributes. Just depends on what I want or need at the moment.

This model contacted me and I'm glad she did! She's amazing!
