Guys, PLS READ!!!!

Please please do not fall victim for this agency and the fake people that have been posting comments on here saying it is legit. Yes he might have gotten a few jobs here and there which I don't know but the mere fact that he lies on his website is enough for me to come to a conclusion that he only wants to get money off people.

I also got a call just like everyone else. Initially, I hadn't taken the time to look through his website. He told me I was absolutely gorgeous and blah blah blah but my pictures were not of good standard. He also dropped a few rude comments. He must have spent over 30minutes on the phone going on about his agency and how his models are flown to Newyork, California etc. I knew already that it was all bullshit. A true agency will not call you at 9pm boasting about the type of jobs the have offered their models. But because I am a nice and polite person, I let him carry on with his rubbish talk. I found the conversation boring and I wanted him off my phone asap but didn't want to be rude. At the end he told me he will offer me a photo shoot for 90pounds that will get the big agencies wanting to sign me. I asked myself this questions, if he was a true agent, he is meant to look for jobs for me so why would he say that after I have had the photo shoots, all the big agencies will want to hire me? Also, a true agency don't care about professional pictures. They want to see pictures of you natural with no retouching done to the photos or preferable, they want you to walk in so they can see exactly what you look like. so why pay any amount at all to get professional photos??

I said no straight away. He didn't seem happy and said to me none of the big agencies I applied to will contact me. I told him I didn't care. I am a postgraduate Chemistry student so if modelling doesn't work, its not the end of the world. He then said very rudely, he will not be calling me back and that storm , select and all the big agencies I applied to won't call me. I told him that I will take my chances and won't take his offer and the conversation ended.

Two days later, my phone rings and who is calling? the same guy that said he won't call me. I didn't pick up and he left a message saying he has casting for me with victoria secret and vogue. I laughed so hard because this dude must think I'm a fool. anyways, he calls me again and I picked up. He asked me if I had any luck with the big agencies, I said no but BMA contacted me. He said well if they are not offering me a contract then they don't want me and asked if I still want his offer. By this time, I have had a good look at his website and came across the page where he claims one of his models (The first girl who is blonde) was hired by Abrecrombie&fitch for marketing purposes. (and I hope he hasn't taken this off).

That is a BIG LIE!!!!! I work for Hollister and if anyone knows Hollister, you will also know that Hollister, A&F, A&F Kids and Gilly Hicks are run by the same company. Hollister and A&F will never and have never payed models that don't work in their stores for advertising or marketing purposes. You will never see them on bill boards or on TV or hear on radio. They advertise through their models in store and all the models you see on the shopping bags and on their websites, they are all staff members. That is their policy!!!!! and that is why they employ 'only good looking people''

After I was sick and tired of his crap talk. I mentioned that to him. He quickly tried to defend himself saying thats not true, claiming a well know photographer took those pictures. I asked him why the picture is not on his website and he couldn't answer but said he will send proof of the payment he received from A&F. I told him I didn't want to see that but instead he should send me the picture taken of his model by A&F. He told me since I'm questioning his companies integrity, he will decline my application. as if?? lol. I told him never to call me and promised him I will write a review about his agency to prevent innocent people from falling victim. luckily I was wise enough not to fall victim. tbh you don't even need to be smart or wise..his actions says it all!! If his model was used by A&F that should be the first picture on his website!

He sent me a text a few minutes later saying 'he wishes me all the best''. he then called a few minutes later asking me to send my email so he can send me the picture to prove he was telling the truth. I sent it to him. on the phone he was still rude saying i will prove to you and these big agencies won't contact you.

Well, he did send me a picture and I can't even describe with words what I saw. The quality was so bad., the picture was blurry, the shot was taken in a location that looks like it was in the woods, the 'model' had a blue denim shirt on and a dark jeans. The outfit didn't look anything like A&F standard and you couldn't really tell what brand it was because of the blurry picture. He had photoshopped a&f's logo to it..I mean even a fool will not even think twice with it.. at first I laughed so hard but then I thought this guy is insane. He really has a problem and he needs deliverance!!!

If you read this and you still go ahead to join his agency, then I'm sorry but you are very stupid!!

The A&F model is Chynna from Southend. I discovered her and introduced her to Bob. Last year she flew to LA to shoot the A&F Kids campaign with Bruce Weber, one of the world's best known fashion photographers who shoots all A&F campaigns, as well as Calvin Klein, Vogue, and many more. So I can categorically state that this is a true story.

I shoot tests of newbies and wannabes regularly for Mission and yes Bob is a character, and I get paid for the tests which considering I have 25 years experience, buy kit, spend hours retouching, provide guidance and advice, is a reasonable return.

Once a model is signed I shoot all the models for free, during the test sessions. I have also employed many of his models on commercial shoots. My portfolio page is nearly all Mission Models girls.

How interesting that you get paid by "Bob", only have 5 forum posts under your belt, and yet you've suddenly bumped TWO threads about Mission Models to tell us how wonderful they are!

I don't know anything about any of this so I am not vouching for anyone.  I would just comment that you are equating "street cred" with MM postings?  Hmmm.  I look at people's portfolios.

Kind of, who knows, but its about as interesting as someone posting a reply on ripoff report as a studio assistant or employee as well as posting once themselves. Not in this case, but ran across that last week and thought it was funny.

But then what isn't a scam these days, and hey, with google picking up stuff it would be worth replying to posts here.

Who knows, dosent effect me, and fwiw I judge people based on their personal websites or lack there of more so than post count or even what they have to say.

I'm not a fanatical poster, I have limited time and rarely feel I have much to contribute. I always get very little out of Model Mayhem apart from lots of models asking for free shoots. I don't even post castings for commercial jobs on here any more as I get so many flakes. But I like the site and when I have time I browse the ports, because there is a wealth of good photography to enjoy.

However, the OP riled me as I felt much of it was misinformed, especially in relation to Chynna's A&F campaign and I originally saw the same post on Facebook, which was when I decided to google it. She has made three identical posts, 2 on here and 1 on Facebook, that I can find deriding Mission Models. I felt I had to respond.

But to clear up any more misunderstandings:

I bumped two threads because the OP posted the same thing on two threads and I felt I should defend a client. As I would with any other client I felt was being maligned, or a friend who was being attacked.

I didn't say Bob pays me, I said I get paid. Mission Models doesn't pay me - I charge the models via Mission as they are my point of contact and organise the shoots. My fees are transparent and available to see on my profile page and are at the lower end of the industry standard. I don't want to rip anyone off, especially young models starting out or even the established independent models who hire me. Modelling is a tough job to make a living in and times are hard. And I enjoy spending the day with a dozen beautiful women! smile

I do a wide range of work with many clients, of which Mission is just one. You can see many of them on my profile page (needs updating TBH, but again it's a time thing).
