Lots of models (and photographers) have older images in their portfolio. If those are the ONLY photos, yeah, not a good sign.

For some the account may be just an ego thing for the lady in it... Not really a model, but likes to think she is.
Possibly fake accounts, as you mentioned earlier.

But yeah, it's not a good sign.

one more reason is that they are actually actively pursuing something else as their main goal/job. so they dont shoot as often.

When I joined MM a couple of years ago I contacted new models with the requisite 4 photos.  Checking my outbox now, most still have the same 4 pics, and only half of the PM's show as read...even though accessing through their email could explain that.

Long story short...and as one that pays ALL models...I don't waste time with ports with a few pics and no changes...a sure sign of a stagnant account.

Yeah...maybe they are kicking ass somewhere else...but I have no way of knowing that....so for sure they won't have a shot at my folding green.

As long as the person actually still looks like that it doesn't matter, some people can look almost identical for 5+ years

I don't think it matters if you have older images up or not. All images show the different types of styles you can do no matter the age of an images. I have images up that I did years ago just because it shows what I can do and yes I don't shoot much due to a busy life.

I like the pictures and I look the same. If I start looking noticeably different, I think I'll take them down, although I'll probably be getting requests for unedited selfies (T minus a couple years) before that happens.

It might be worth considering that the more established and the more experienced, the less likely they will be updating their MM pics even though they may be signing in to deal with messages.

If one's photos accurately represent their appearance and talent, they are probably off working and dealing with other things, and not overly concerned with anyone who may be microscopically inspecting their posted photos to see when they were uploaded, or deeply worried that they are not posting new photos often enough to satisfy someone who is concerned with a rather insignificant detail.

I have noticed that some models have had the same pictures  in their portfolio for years even though they check their sites almost daily....does it means that they have not shoot in years.. or is there a reason for not up grading? From my perfective it gives the feeling that they don't really care, unless they feel some their last images are not worth showing...I just wonder....

they might just like the photos- I have a couple like that in my portfolio. though I rotate some of my images so that I have new ones up all the time, there are some, that to me, are so classically what I want to look like/the kind of work I like to create that I just keep them up indefinitely.
there are all sorts of reasons, though. its hard to say without knowing the model- it might just be a fake or abandoned account.

I would think 10 yr old photos with drastic changes in appearance would be a "significant " detail

I don't care if a model's photos are from 2004 or 2014... as long as I see some recent polaroids on a white background with no make-up, hair, and in a bikini.

The simple solutions is to just move on to someone else who has updated if it bothers you so much.....

I personally don't care so long as the person looks the same. If not, back home you go!.........
