Hello! My name is Jess, I've had an account on here for quite some time, years actually, but never really used it much due to insecurities with my appearance and whatnot.
But, I'm really trying to network and get into working a little more!
I'm awaiting my opportunity to shoot a set with Suicide Girls, but in the meantime don't have much of a portfolio.
I recently (in the last couple of years) lost 55 lbs, and have never been happier with my body, but I'm still not quite where I'd like to be. I'm working my butt off at the gym with my friend who's home from military school, so by the time I'm ready to start booking in July I'll be in tip top shape smile

Be sure to do some research on Suicide Girls before you shoot for them. You can search the fora here.

That alone is pretty darn impressive!

Sadly, we have too many overweight kids in school here.  While stopped at a bus stop loading in the AM, I couldn't help but notice how many were grossly overweight for high schoolers.  Maybe only one to a seat too.  It's very tough to lose it, and takes a whole lot of drive to do so.

Good job on your numbers and future photo gigs too.

Welcome to the Mayhem hienvy

Three good ways to network are:

Post an availability notice letting people know that you are available (under the casting/travel tab). This is for when you want to charge money. You can offer trade as well.

Search for Casting Calls in your area based on criteria you select. Post a Casting Call letting people know about an idea you have and want to put into a work of art. This is for when you are willing to pay other people. You can offer trade as well.

Search or Post Casting Calls and Travel/Availability Notices
Official Casting Call Rules - Read

Browse for photographers in your area and leave comments on images you like, send a friend request or message. Start a list of photographer's photos that you think are top notch for photographers in your area. This can become something of a Rolodex. Make sure that you select the Advanced Options and select an appropriate Logged in within:. I typically use 30 days, but you may want people who respond faster. Otherwise you will get photographers who haven't logged in in over a year. There are a lot of inactive accounts.

Good luck in your search!
