Can I change my name?
Yes. Go to My Stuff. Then click on Settings. You can only do this a total of 5 times. Beyond that, you'll need to let the moderators know what name you wish to use. It may also help deliver unto them freshly baked cookies. +

How can I set a custom URL?
Go to My Stuff > Settings > Change URL. If you've already set a custom URL and want to change it, ask the mods. They will reset your URL, and you can then set it to whatever you want. +

Can I bling out my profile page (images, links, video, music, etc.)?
Somewhat. We like to keep things clean. Images and links are allowed. Videos and music are not. For more information, check out this guide. +

I closed my profile, but I want to come back. What do I do?

How come some people have more photos than me? I want more!

It could take anywhere from 1-10 days. To help expedite the process, it is in your best interest to upload as many good quality photos as possible and provide a nice substantial bio. +

My profile was denied! What gives?
If you were given the option to re-submit your profile into the queue, you simply didn't meet the requirements for Model Mayhem. Please read over them carefully and try applying again. If you were NOT given the option to re-submit, then that means your profile is not allowed on Model Mayhem. +

Is my credit card secure?
Absolutely. We have implemented secure encryption technology both on the site (when credit card information is displayed/entered - ssl technology) as well as in our back end databases. At no time is your full credit card information available to anyone except our credit card processing company. +

How do I cancel my VIP or Premium membership?
Wha? We didn't hear that. We're sorry, you said what? If you feel you really must leave, simply log into your account, head to the "VIP Wallet" or "Premium Wallet" link in your My Stuff area and click the "Cancel" button. Your subscription will be canceled at the end of your current cycle. There are no refunds however, so if you've already paid for time, you'll remain a VIP/Premium until that time expires. What happens if I cancel my VIP or Premium membership?
Well, other than no longer being hip and the world potentially coming to an end, you lose all the privileges associated with VIP/Premium (extra photo slots, extra messages, etc.). But don't worry--none of your photos (or their comments and lists) will be deleted. +

My credit card just got declined, and my subscription is still active. What do I do?
The decline notification you received will likely have given you a reason for the error. To correct this, simply go to the VIP link on your My Stuff page, where you'll be taken to your 'wallet' of credit cards. You can either edit your credit card information here or add a new credit card to use for your membership. If no reason was given for the decline it is probably easiest to simply go to your 'wallet' and resubmit your credit card information or add a new credit card. +

I'm being told that I am over my photos limit?
This is a result of you once being a VIP or Premium, getting access to the increased photo limit, and then having your VIP or Premium membership status be canceled and so now your limit is back to its original limit. In order to add new photos to your portfolio, you can now do either of the following: 1) Sign up again by going through the registration again. 2) Delete photos in your profile until you get below the limit of normal membership. +

Casting Calls/Travel Notices/Availability Notices
What is a casting call?
A casting call is a post in which you can advertise a project of your own, for which you need to hire* a MM member.

*The word “hire” is used loosely here, as it does not necessarily mean that you will be paying, but it does mean that you are not expecting to be paid or that there will be any charge to participate. +

Can I cast for MM talent if I don't have a profile?
Absolutely! You'll need to set up a Guest profile and then you will be able to create a Sponsored Casting call. You can get started on our sponsored castings page. Note that you must be logged out of any inactive or unapproved MM profiles before setting up a Guest profile. +

Why don’t I see my Sponsored Casting Call at the top of search results?
An individual Sponsored Casting will not appear on every search page. First, our system matches Sponsored Castings to the search criteria that are most relevant. Second, if a number of Sponsored Castings are available for a search, the system randomly displays relevant castings to ensure fairness for all. +

Can I look for paid work?
Yes. If you’re staying close to home, you may look for paid work in an Availability Notice, and if you’re traveling, you may do so in a Travel Notice. Casting Calls which require the responder to make a payment of any kind are not permitted and will be deleted. +

What does TFP mean? TFCD? TF*?
TFP means "time for prints". It's an arrangement where everyone contributes their time and skills to produce photos, but without monetary compensation. TFCD means "time for CD of images" and so on. +

What is a travel notice?
A travel notice is a post in which you can advertise that you will be available outside of your normal geographic area. +

How do I get emailed when someone is traveling to my area?
VIP members can subscribe to Alerts that will notify you if a Casting Call, Travel Notice, or Availability Notice matches criteria you choose. To create one, do a search for what you want to find, then click “Add to Casting Call Alert” on the results page. Give the alert a name and click submit. You’ll then get an email, a private message, or both when someone posts what you’re looking for. +

How do I edit or delete a Casting Call/Travel Notice/Availability Notice?
At the bottom of each of your Casting Calls, Travel Notices, and Availability Notices are buttons that allow you to delete or edit your postings. All of your Casting Calls, Travel Notices, and Availability Notices are listed on your profile page so you (and others) can find them easily. +

Verified Credits
What are Verified Credits?
A Verified Credit is a two-way connection where both members verify they worked together on a project (i.e. a “collaboration”). By verifying a professional collaboration, each member builds a stronger network of trust within the ModelMayhem community and the modeling industry in general. Members can add details such as the number of times they have worked together, the date they last worked together, and praise for the other member where they describe in their own words what it was like to work together. +

Who can create a Verified Credit?
Currently, only members of Model Mayhem can add verified credits with other members. This allows the credit to be a two-way connection between members. Members who wish to list credits with professionals outside of ModelMayhem may do so in the Credit Notes section of their profile. +

How are Verified Credits different from my existing credits?
The original “Credits” section of the profile has been renamed “Credit Notes”; these are different from Verified Credits because the collaborator has NOT approved the work of the member. Verified Credits display a trusted network of members who have confirmed they have worked together. +

How do I add a verified credit?
From the new view of MyStuff, select “Credits” from the left side navigation menu. It will expand to show a menu option for “Add Credits.” In the appropriate text box simply type either the member’s username or MM number into the search box to find the correct member. Then add additional details and submit the request. This credit will be “unverified” until the other user verifies the credit in their “credit notifications,” similar to how a Facebook friend request needs to be accepted by the other person. +

Can I add Verified Credits for photos I have credited in my portfolio?
Yes, go to “Add Credits” within the new view of MyStuff and select “Request.” Click the link “Request Verified Credits,” which will prompt the system to scan your portfolio for active members with credits and generate a request invitation that is ready to be submitted to the matching member(s). You can also request to modify the details and request individual credits from members you have already worked with. +

How do I know that a Verified Credit has been approved?
When you add or request a Verified Credit, a credit notification is sent to the other member (ie. the “collaborator”) that allows them to accept/verify or ignore the request. Once the collaborator verifies the credit request, .the credit will appear in your My Credits and you will receive a notification. You will not be notified if your request is ignored. +

Can I manage which credits appear on my profile?
Yes, your profile will display 5 credits which can be managed via the My Credits section. By default, the first 5 credits that are verified will be added to your Top 5 Credits automatically. If you have more than 5 verified credits you can select in the My Credits view to add that credit to your top 5, which will then make it appear on your profile. Whether you have 5 or 500 credits you can control the order in which the credits on your profile are displayed by again selecting “manage top 5” in your My Credits view. +

How do I Manage my Credited Photos?
Credited photos will remain in your “Photos” under the Account section. You navigate there by selecting “Edit Credited Photos” at the top of your manage photos view. +

How do I show Praise?
First, you will need to make sure that you have received Praise to begin with! If you don't have Praise from someone, simply send a Request for Praise. Once you have Praise, if it is not showing up on your profile then it is probably hidden. To unhide your Praise, go to My Stuff, then My Credits. Find the Verified Credit you have Praise from, and then click "Show Praise" to unhide the Praise on your profile.
Once it is visible, the link will change to "Hide Praise" - which you can click if you do not want that visible on your profile. +

How do I Delete a Credit?
1) Go to Credits, then click My Credits.
2) Find the credit you want to remove, and click the checkbox on the right.
3) At the top of the page, a trashcan icon will have appeared. Clicking this will remove the credit for you!


What is Model Mayhem?
Model Mayhem is the #1 portfolio website for professional models and photographers. Create a profile, upload your photos and connect with other professionals. +

What is GWC?
GWC is an acronym for "Guy With Camera." It's a derogatory term for an amateur photographer. And it has taken the intraweb by storm thanks to MM. It usually implies that said guy is only interested in photography in order to get hot ladies to get nekkid for him. +

Member Accounts: How do I remove my profile from the site?
If you really insist, go to My Stuff > Settings > Cancel Your Account.

Please be aware that Model Mayhem doesn't completely delete profiles, though cancellation renders profiles invisible to the public and search engines. Note that after account cancellation, your profile and images may still show up in search engine results. This is not within our control.

To speed up the disappearance of your profile and images from search engine results, take these steps before cancelling your account. Delete your images in My Stuff > Manage Photos, remove all personally identifying info (such as email addresses and variations of your name) in My Stuff > Edit Profile, and change your display name to something generic in My Stuff > Settings > Change Display Name. You may also want to delete tags from your profile and tags you've left on other people's profiles, especially those that mention your name or personal information.

Talent Recruiter Accounts: How do I remove my profile from the site?
If you really insist, go to My Stuff > Contact Support and send a message requesting your account to be removed. Someone from Support will assist you in removing your account. +

Why isn't Model Mayhem loading on my Internet Explorer browser?
Microsoft recently announced that they will end support for IE7 and IE8 in January 2015. This means these older versions of the browser will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or other security upgrades from Microsoft.

In response, Model Mayhem will no longer be supporting IE 7 or IE 8. This is primarily due to security flaws with these browsers and their lack of HTML5 compatibility. As a result some features/functionality of Model Mayhem may no longer work in IE7 and IE8 browsers. Bugs or performance issues that appear only when using IE7 and IE8 will not be investigated or fixed.

We recommend that you upgrade to one of our supported browsers in order to better experience Model Mayhem: Internet Explorer (most recent stable version), Mozilla® Firefox® (most recent stable version), Google Chrome™ (most recent stable version), or Apple® Safari® version 6 or higher on Mac OS X and iOS.

I seem to get spam emails to my email address.
First off, MM will not give your email address to anyone without your expressed permission. If you are receiving spam emails after setting up an MM profile, it is likely that you are listing your email address somewhere on your profile or elsewhere. Unfortunately there are people out there who will see this and use it in deeply evil and nefarious ways. Bwahahaha. That is how those people laugh. +

What is a Certified Partner of Model Mayhem?
A Certified Partner is a 3rd party company that Model Mayhem has officially partnered with in order to provide our members with additional services. In some cases, these Certified Partners have special access to our systems (APIs) and may ask members to supply their log-in information in order to retrieve information like photos from their portfolio. What is Shop?

Print: What are the optimal image specs?
The builder will prompt you if an image isn’t high enough resolution to print correctly. We recommend you use as high a quality image as possible. The maximum image size is 5,000 x 5,000 pixels. +

How do I make sure Google DOES NOT list my MM account when someone searches on my real name?
Though we do not control Google (no matter what anyone tells you), if you do not want Google to associate your Model Mayhem account with your real name, then by all means use a pseudonym (fake name). If your real name is no where on your profile or your portfolio, it is much less likely that Google will ever make the connection.
