I don't get a strong sense of what it is you are looking to shoot. I see some decent images, but nothing that makes me latch on to them or gives me a sense of what you are trying to say with them. Solution? Keep shooting. Keep learning what it is you want to create. Make lots of mistakes. Learn why they were mistakes. Have fun!

As you keep shooting, keep only the best that display what you want to shoot more of. Since you said you want to keep shooting more pinup, definitely keep these:

If I had just seen the rest of your portfolio, I wouldn't know that you were capable of being part of this level of work. So, the rest of your portfolio eventually needs to be replaced by work as good or better than the above images smile

Work with some amazing portrait photographers (other than Laubenheimer but yes he's amazing tongue). I'm sure there are some wetplate guys in your area. Work on varying the tone, mood, and expression in each image. Have fun. smile

A few things off the bat:
Escorts are not really a good idea. Having someone drop you off and pick you up? Good. Telling someone (or many someones) who you will be shooting with, where, and what timeframe? Even better. You will lose out on a lot of legitimate work insisting on bringing an escort and bolding it in your profile.

From this image I can tell you have a great face and figure:

If you haven't yet, go see agencies about commercial modeling. Research what makes a great portfolio. Freelance in the meantime until/if an agency signs you.

This is a very refreshing mother and child shot; there is a great sense of space in the image, the giant bed lends to the feeling, and it's almost like the two of them are in some sort of womb together. It's a creative spin on the concept instead of doing a closely-cropped high key image of a mom smiling at a baby.

Honestly I'm quite impressed with how you light some of your shots and it gives me a few ideas of how to be more creative in lighting the figure!

Thank you for your time and insight!!

I'm kind of confused.

In your MM portfolio you express interest in making boudoir images. I feel no connection to the subjects in these images and would not give them a second look. On the site you linked you have portraits, which are good. Then in your miscellaneous section there are a few very good shots, but much different than what you express interest in creating on here. Maybe focus on that style of imagery for a while, because I sense more of an investment in the subject from you, and it leads to a better overall image.

P.s. this is the original poster's photographer profile not some random lugnut photographer tongue

I definitely remember your work! I love that you are not afraid to give space around the figure. Your images are complete even without a model in them.

I feel like you hide behind something in many of your images. Another model, hair, hugging closely around yourself, etc. this is not necessarily a bad thing, but I want to see strong, confident images from you. Stand up straight, face the camera, no make up or styling, I'd love to see what that looks like.

Great technical abilities but your work is overall cohesive and flows together nicely. Some of the stuff towards the top isn't as good as the rest. Keep your best 12-16 images and ditch the rest.

Thank you for the advice smile

Hmmm, don't know if I'm really trying to say anything with this profile, probably more than anything just trying to show proficiency in a few different styles.

I think my fine art port would be more suitable to that question:

I think you should narrow down on what you like to shoot, and what you want to shoot with models from mm. Right now it does read as "these are the different things I can do" and that's about it for me. I have no sense of you as a photographer; even if someone's work is in the early stages (I.e. they're not that good yet), I at least like to feel some connection to what they are trying to say. And yes this is a totally case by case basis thing, I'm sure other models will see your work and see something I don't. However you did ask for my dumb opinion so hope it was somewhat helpful. I think the other portfolio of yours is more cohesive and unified and therefore comes across as a stronger portfolio.

You need 2-3 good headshots. Different expressions. If an image isn't useful in getting you work delete it from your portfolio.

Two favorites from your portfolio:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/27374736 18+
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/140927/12/5427119865b01_m.jpg

In a lot of images you make your neck appear shorter by lowering your chin. Elongate your neck and stick your chin out as well as lowering if that is what is the best angle for a shot. It's all smoke and mirrors lol. If a pose is too comfortable it probably won't photograph too well; if you feel like a stretched out rubber band it will probably look awesome. 0.02 from an art model

Why? There are layers; a background, foreground, and interesting things in each image to give the image a context. Also in each image there is a really good connection between model and audience.

Take a simple headshot, full body shot, profile, and smiling headshot and delete what you have up now. You're not the focus in most of the images, and they all look like snapshots and don't display that you have an ability to model. In some of the other images where you are more of the focus, you do have a good connection to the viewer and photograph well, but the image isn't professional quality. hiring a really good commercial photographer to get a few basic things up might be a good investment if you are seriously trying to find an agency to sign with or freelance as a commercial model. Best of luck on your journey smile
