Hi.  I sent a huge email blast out to about one hundred agencies.  I've heard back from a few.  I have a question about one though.  Modelscout, Inc. located in Orlando, FL.

Who's heard of them?  They said they like my images and everything and would like to work with me.  The thing is, it costs $345 for a comp card and to be on their website.

I've heard mixed reviews about this agency and $345 is a lot of money.

For the record, I have done my research.  The stuff that I found though dates back a few years.  I would like to hear some new responses and opinions on this agency.

I'm currently represented by Susan Applegate Agency, Talent Rouge, Deco Models, and Talent Direct.  None of those agencies have asked for any money.

I'm thinking this is just a big scam.  I need some second thoughts.  Thanks!

True.  I'm kind of wondering why I'm even thinking about this.  It should be a no brainer!

A quick google search of "Modelscout.com scam"  may well yield threads and the same questions going back - many - MANY years...

And it's always the same sort of thing - money paid in - yet actual models getting work?

The biggest thing is if it is an Agency or an "Agency"  Do they book work? or in their fine print, is it about that they claim to not be an actual legal agency and only promise to give you "Exposure".

From their BBB file  (their words)

"she was supposed to be signed exclusively with modelscout before being taken to miami and introduced at no charge to several of the top agencies in the world"

Exclusive to Model scout? - Then, why on earth would you intend to  introduce her to apparently all of their competitors??

In Florida, it's a FELONY to operate a talent agency without a special license issued by the state.
The license number is also required to be displayed in all advertising.

Thanks guys.  I dunno what I was thinking at first.  I guess my brain switch must have been turned off that day.  I probably didn't even know what 2+2 was at the time!  XD

I think it's on now.

You were thinking like most women. smile YOU WANTED this to be a break into a good agency, that would kick your modeling career into overdrive. ( I am assuming)

Like most of us do, we want something simple, to be something amazing. big_smile SO this proves you're; hoping for the best, human, and want to succeed.
