Car "vanity" plates
I live in Maine, which is one of the many states that let you "buy" vanity plates for your auto when you register it. I am always looking for good, funny plates when I am traveling, and I had to laugh when I saw these 2 a couple of days ago! On a family minivan: pb4wego On a BMW (I think, and I can't believe this one got passed the censors): rub1out Seen any good plates lately? Oct 18 14 08:47 am Link I saw a BMW yesterday that said "EXCESS". Oct 18 14 08:54 am Link Vanity plates drive me insane because 90% of the time it is something that isn't obvious like the person's initials or date of birth. Who cares? But the two that I remember really well are my son's father's sister's car has a plate that says; NWARPDR (In warp drive) which is a Star Trek reference because she is a nerd. One creepy guy who was in his mid 40's and was clearly going through a mid-life crisis was driving a red corvette and his plate said; AREU18? Oct 18 14 09:12 am Link I shit you not I saw ILOVEBJ yesterday on my drive home. Oct 18 14 01:43 pm Link -JAY- wrote: who doesn't? Oct 19 14 10:06 am Link Several old school geeky plates I see on my regular commute: PLOVER and XYZZY - Both "magic words" in the "Colossal Cave Adventure" (an early text based game). RS232 - the standard for serial ports and one of my favorites was a red car with "PMS 226" (I think that was the right Pantone number - It closely matched the color of the car).
