I believe Photography, like music, is an amazing form for expressing emotion and passion, connecting and capturing the motion and rhythm of our lives. If an image is not injected with passion, it is a waste. If an image does not illicit some emotional response, it is a waste. I am not "formerly" trained as they say. I will however always be a student of this art form. I don't let anyone else’s idea of how you should take a photograph Interfere with the creative process. It is pure. I depend on feeling 99% of the time when approaching a project. I could not tell you half the time how I shot a particular photograph; I just feel it and do it. I believe in energy and the collaborative process. I believe everyone involved in the collaborative process is an artist and I respect them as artists. I am a shooter, not a poser. I don't micro-manage shoots. I believe the more you try and control a shoot, the more you shut out the pure creative energy. I have seen many images that were perfectly posed, perfect hair and makeup, "perfect" Lighting, by the so-called "greatest" photographers and models that were creatively dead. I have seen images created by "inexperienced" Artists that blew my socks off. The bottom line, I believe in surrendering to the creative process and the energy within. If all this sounds weird or foreign to you, then don't bother me. If however my approach to photography inspires you, then maybe we can create something amazing.
