I own a Graphic Design Business "A Class Designz". I do flyers/invites (promo/club/ads/kids) , logos, business cards, myspace layouts, basic websites, model comp cards, etc...... and of course PHOTO RETOUCHING. Oh and I am about to start doing photography as well.

I've been doing Photo Retouching for a year now and I think I am fairly good at it with only a year experience, so just think how my skills will improve in the years to come. I don't just stick a blur on my photos and call it a retouch. Nevertheless, I don't use Gaussian Blur on any of my work nor do I use an automated tool. I work through every photo trying to fix every little detail or imperfection that I can as well as doing things to enhance the photo or correct what the photographers light might have captured, while at the same time keeping it natural. Every photo is different and must be customized & imperfected based on the photo itself.

I still have a lot to learn and as with anything, there is always room to grow for improvements.

**When doing retouching, depending on what and how far you want to process your image, I refer to my process as LEVELS.
-Level 1 (Basic Retouch - removing blemishes, scars, and lightening up the photo)
-Level 2 (Level 1 + Add make up, lipstick, change hair color, change eye color)
-Level 3 (Level 1 + 2 + change your background and/or enhance an HDR effect on the photo)
