Moses Morales was born in Virginia and since has lived in unique locals such as Chicago, San Francisco, West Palm Beach, and St. Croix in the Virgin Islands, creating his art. He attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated with a BFA in 2006. He makes paintings that provide astonishing ventures into the memories of his experiences. He utilizes painting as his means of exploring his surroundings through techniques that produce resonate textures and surfaces. He identifies pivotal moments in life that create memories desirable to reminisce and reembark upon in the future. These moments become apparent from his unique mark-making, meditation, and reflection. Moses Morales’ work ultimately is the result of a heightened sense of wonder, exploration, and discovery.
