HI I'm Katherine.

I studied photography for two years at Newcastle College and ever since I have been toying with the idea of doing it semi- professionaly.

I haven't had much experience; so far I have been shooting close friends and family, with some non- serious comission work on the side. I bought my first digital SLR just last year (the Nikon D80) but before that shot mostly with film and compact digital.

I am mostly comfortable working outdoors using natural light and ocassionaly indoors but I have no studio experience at all, so most of my shots have natural settings. The work in my portfolio that appears to be studio work is simply taken against sheets of paper using natural lighting or tube lighting.

I guess I've always been really nervous about comission work but I figured the best way to overcome that is to showcase my work (if you can call it that) and talk to people from the industry who could give me advice :)
