BASIC INFORMATION:

My name is Caroline Lawless, and I am a 20-year-old fine art/fashion photographer residing near the Bristol VA/TN area. I am currently pursuing my B.A. in Graphic Design at Emory & Henry College, and will be graduating in early May of 2011.

I am currently working on a project that will span the next year-and-a-half, culminating in a solo art show in early 2011. I am looking for industry-standard models (both represented and non-represented) to photograph as part of this project. I will consider both paid and TFP work. Even though I am a student, I work in a strictly professional manner. I may not have my own personal studio, but I am no stranger to hard work, and I put my heart into every project that I undertake. I suppose you could say that is the artist in me. I would like to work with models, stylists, and designers that will enhance my work with their own insights; I have a high respect for natural talent, because it cannot be taught, only cultivated.

Because I do not own my own studio (as of yet), I do most of my work on-location. In the vein of Irving Penn himself, I prefer the use of natural lighting in most of my work. There is something about sunlight that cannot be recreated using artificial light.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE:

I use my trusty Canon DSLR for most of my work, but I am going to be shooting all of my upcoming projects with a vintage lomography camera (120 film). I develop and edit all of my photos myself, using Adobe Photoshop CS3/CS4.
