About Me

Furious Ennui Creative Imagery was internationally recognised, multi-award winning photographer Peter Ryan. He struggled in the last couple of years of his life to continue his work, but sadly Cancer took him on 1st January 2013. His spark of commitment and creativity will be missed.

He started out as a freelance sports photojournalist, and moved on to commercial, editorial and fine art work. He approached all my work from a fine art perspective. He had a distinctive style borne out of the range of genres and fields he have photographed in, and he was somewhat driven to push his creative boundaries and mess with people's minds in terms of the way they think they perceive what they think is reality.

The photograph is the catalyst and the conduit that sparks a dialogue between the audience and the image, the audience and the photographer, and an internal dialogue within the audience based on their experiences, perceptions and environments. Every image he made has a story. His story was different from the model's. It will be different from the audience's. All the stories are real and legitimate.

He was especially interested in dance, performing arts and fine art work that is different and powerful. He was an experimental photographer. He was a creative. He made images, not just photographs.

He has work in private collections in Australia, the USA and Europe. He taught creative photography workshops, and participated in exhibitions regularly (over 20 to date). He was a winner in the Kodak Salon 2010, held at the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne, Australia in the category "Most Powerful Transformative Experience". The Kodak Salon is Australia's largest open entry photographic competition, attracting entries from all corners of the nation.
